Wonderful atmosphere and service, with delicious food
Had dinner on Saturday night on the patio. Two of us had pasta, one had tagine and one had chicken… all delicious. Meg was our server and made wonderful recommendations for appetizers and beverages. It was cozy, but not cramped. This is my second time there and each time has been amazing.

Now sure what Neo Rustic is, but I know good food when I eat it! This is good food.
My wife and I were in Ashland to see some shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and also celebrate our anniversary. I did some looking around at menus and this one looked good. Not sue what Neo Rustic means, exactly, but the choices sounded pretty good. It's not a big place and a little off the main drag but very close to the theatre campus and they take reservations (though through a third party online-I miss the old days when you just called). We got there and the host offered us a choice of seats with a warning about the possibility of noisy neighbors. We opted for the other table. Our server was friendly and the bussers were attentive. I was able to figure out that Neo Rustic meant (at least here) some new takes on old classics. I have to say, from our caprese salad to the our berry pie a' la mode, the dishes were executed flawlessly and were all quite delicious. One caveat though, the food is quite rich and don't be fooled by the smaller portions. We were pleasantly satisfied. The richness of the food is not something we're accustomed to but that's because we simply don't eat out a lot and we did have dishes heavy with sauce. There were other menu options that might have been better for us though. This is in no way a knock on the food, just a head's up. It's a place we will go back to on our trip to Ashland next year. Thanks to the staff for providing a wonderful dining experience!

Though there are lots of good restaurants in Ashland, we'll definitely head back to Cocorico on our next visit!
The host of the VRBO where we stayed recommended Cocorico as one of the best restaurants in Ashland. My wife and I heartily agree. It features a great combination of fine food, service and ambiance, starting with the wonderful hostess Grace's greetings. The restaurant is divided into several smallish rooms, which adds to the atmosphere and helps keep it pretty quiet. It's a creative menu. We had a great salad and peppers as appetizers, following by a large lamb shank (with harissa and hints of preserved lemons) and trout (with feta and grape leaves). I'd seen one or two comments about the dishes being on the small side. I'd say the opposite: Both the appetizer and main helpings were quite substantial. We sat the in the back, semi-open but covered courtyard, nicely set up and decorated to make the most of the space. The tables were spaciously spaced apart from each other. Plus there was a large, pretty planter between us and a neighboring couple, adding to a sense of privacy. All in all, very highly recommended. Though there are lots of good restaurants in Ashland, we'll definitely head back to Cocorico on our next visit!

Exceptional place to dine
This place is a gem. It was our first time there while driving to CA from Seattle. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. This will be our go-to spot every time we stop in Ashland.
