This was an experience! Food was So Good!! Best Clam Chowder I have ever had,(Better then mine). I'm on a mission to duplicate it. Great service! We stop here everytime we are in Brookings. Never disappointed!!

This experience was not even similar to our last visit a couple years ago. My clam chowder had wonderful flavor for a potato soup but the clams were rubbery and I could not eat them. I ordered a salad with the special house made dressing - the waitress had to come back to tell me they were out of it. How can you be out of your special house made dressing at 2 in the afternoon? My husband ordered the shrimp and chips and they were extremely greasy as if the oil was not hot enough. If you want excellent fish and chips, go to Zolo’s On The Water in the Harbor. My husband did enjoy his Alaskan Amber. We were so looking forward to returning to this restaurant and, unfortunately, it did not live up to our previous experience. We will not be back.

Catalyst is the go-to place for seafood lovers. Multiple occasions here (mostly lunch) have been consistent. This place is ALWAYS busy, so prepare for a wait, especially on weekends and in season. Even so, the staff is efficient and the food is always good. Their fish and chips are great (according to my husband) and their portions are generous. This last time I had the fish tacos, which were very delicious, but fell apart in the soggy soft corn taco shells pretty quickly, but no worries: grab your fork! Not a seafood fan? No worries, the diverse menu has something for most everyone.

I’ve been here twice and both times I have left wanting. Ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the chicken was dry and bacon way overdone. French fries were good and the clam chowder was yummy though. They have a fun alcoholic drinks which the table enjoyed.

Boring Fish Tacos
Split the fish tacos. Completely flavorless. The only saving caveat was the fish wasn't deep fried. Restaurant felt kind of dirty to me.
