Great little restaurant in Cannon Beach
Nice menu with something for everyone. Dishes have a Cajun flare to them but not too spicy. Service is very good, especially for Oregon, where good service can be hard to find.

Foodies Delight !
We celebrated our anniversary here. It is all about the food, it is like eating at a friends home full of friends and your host is a 3 Star Michelin chef. It is beautifuly noisy and casual to a fault. The Food, The Food !!! Service was excellent on spot. Wonderfull Cocktails. The Chef came out after our meal at the end of service and chatted us up for 10 minutes, what a joy! After 56 years of celebrating anniversaries this was the best meal of them all (just inching out Mama's Fish House).

Average food : absurdly overpriced!
We must have gone to a different restaurant than featured in 80% of the reviews which gave castaways an “excellent” review. First the good news: the service was very good and personable and the atmosphere was pleasant. To be fair I also understand the Price Point of anything in Canon Beach is very high. With this said the Castaways is absurdly overpriced. It makes NYC, SF and Santa Fe restaurants ( some of the best in the country) among others seem like relative bargains. We started with their version of” salad cups” which turned out to be 3 pieces of Romain lettuce with some chopped concoction on top. New England has nothing to worry about with Their lobster Bisque which was over salted and had little flavor (you have to ask for bread) . Their $57 “ Seafood Etouffee” was a decent $30 dish but nothing noteworthy and absurd for that price. Oh, and a bourbon that costs $29 a bottle at State Store was $17! In sum I don’t mind paying top dollar for exceptional cuisine but this was top $$ and far from exceptional.

Great food, great service.
My wife and I were in Cannon Beach for a few days on vacation and deciding where to have dinner. We looked over a list of recommended restaurants we had gotten from our hotel, and Castaways was on it . After taking a look at the online menu we called and made a reservation. Once we arrived we were promptly greeted, shown to our table and given the menu. The menu was a little different from what we had seen on the website, because it changes regularly. We made our selections - the pork chop for me and pork cheek mole for my wife. In both cases, the pork was extremely tender and flavorful - and the triple chocolate brownie sundae we had for dessert was pretty good, too! The excellence of the food was matched by the quality of the service. As we were finishing up, the very personable chef/co-owner, Josh, was walking around the dining room talking to the patrons about their meals, which he described to us as “global fusion.” If you’re in the area this is a restaurant worth visiting, but make a reservation because there aren’t that many tables … and you don’t want to miss out!

Nice quiet with great entrees
We got a recommendation from someone with a beach house in Cannon Beach. We had never been to Castaways before even though we've been to Cannon Beach multiple times. We had great service and really good entrees and wine. Marionberry pie ala mode for desert and a cocktail topped off our anniversary dinner.
