Great Downtown Florence Restaurant on Bay Street
We wandered into this place on Bay Street in Florence by accident due to other restaurants being full. We ordered some great seafood chowder, a couple of seafood lunches and non-alcoholic drinks. It was very good food and very good service. We will be back again.

Shrimp Melt Sandwich, Say What?
Wandering through Old Town Florence, we happened upon this restaurant. The food was great! There weren't many people inside, which was a surprise considering some restaurants we passed looked full. This looks like a fun bar/grill atmosphere with a wide variety of drinks available.

Disappointing chowder
We ordered deep fried mushrooms which were served with ranch dressing. We liked the breading and they were very flavorful and plentiful. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was fresh and had a good sharp cocktail sauce with it. The final shared item was the shrimp chowder au gratin which was absolutely terrible, it was a huge bowl with a pasty tasting soup base, a pile of bay shrimp thrown on top and a small pile of shredded cheddar cheese. There is no way to call this dish au gratin just because it had cheese on it. I wonder now if they use the same tasteless base and throw some clams in it. The service was friendly and as fast as could be expected with limited wait staff. She took back the chowder without question which was the right thing to do.

Excellent service
Food was great and the bartenders that day made our visit even better! They were super helpful and let us taste different brews, and were very friendly - made dining with three children super easy!

Our Oregon Excursion
We visited this place on one of our two evenings in Florence. It looked pretty rustic going in but my wife saw seafood Cobb salad on the menu and wanted to try it. We were seated immediately and our order taken. On one side my wife’s salad was really good. I had their halibut fish and chips and found the fish to be rather tasteless and in very small portion. Not once during our meal did our server return to see how we were doing. I would have loved ketchup for my fries and a refill on my soda. I had to stop a bus person to get our bill. Overall this was not an experience that would cause me to want to go back here again.
