Balch Bistro offers fresh local fare.
Our menu is updated seasonally, with specials on the weekends depending on occupancy. We source local and organic whenever possible. We feature natural products from our neighbor, Azure Standard as well as other local farms and suppliers.
Open to local neighbors, travelers and overnight guests passing through. Satisfy your hunger, without leaving the lovely Balch grounds.

Charming menu with an amazing new chef! Don't miss the meatballs and shrimp scampi. All of the desserts are scrumptious, too.
Nice but chairs are hard and uncomfortable. Good food and service. Ginger garlic chicken over coconut rice was outstanding!
We ate dinner here when we stayed at the Balch Hotel. The menu is not extensive (it is a small hotel) but the selections would please just about anyone. Plan on leaving enough room for a crisp a la mode!
My oldest son was visiting from out of state and we thought it would be a nice to have dinner out. Because of covid restaurants were slowly reopening but are still not at full capacity. We decided to take a short drive to visit the Balch hotel for Sunday evening dinner. The couple running the place were very gracious. They have a limited menu but we didn't feel limited in anyway. One son had the tamales, another had the salmon cakes and I had their vegetarian option ; Tofu and lentils with roasted vegetables and I also ordered a side salad. They have a nice local wine list from which I chose a Fifteen Mile red blend. EVERYTHING was excellent! Our server was also our chef. We finished our meal with a warm chocolate ganache cake. The next day we were still commenting on how wonderful everything was : the food, the service, the atmosphere. Everything was perfect! My advice is to to try this delightful restaurant but also go without preconceived ideas about what you want... You will truly be delighted if you do. Also, call ahead because they have limited dinner hours. Enjoy this special place!
The salmon cakes were WONDERFUL! I will get them again! The tamales are a nice deal for $10 during Happy Hour. They come with beer and rice and beans. The tri tip sounds amazing and I will try it next visit!
