Applegate River Lavender Farm is a small, family-owned and operated lavender farm that began welcoming visitors in 2011. Nestled along the Applegate River, 15 miles north of Applegate Lake near the little town of Ruch, Oregon, the 5-acre farm nurtures 1,000 lavender plants of seven varieties (Ana Luisa, Ms. Katherine, Royal Purple, Alba, Grosso, Gros Bleu and Hidcote Giant), keeping the bees busy during the warm summer season.
Applegate River Lavender Farm enjoys sharing their farm with the public and never tire of guests’ smiling faces as they experience the stunning sights and smells of an ocean of purple. The shop is in a large barn surrounded by shady walnut and maple trees. An open grassy area with a rope swing and picnic tables invites visitors to relax, unwind and escape life’s stresses.
Applegate River Lavender Farm is committed to sustainable farming practices and minimizing single-use plastic in everything they do. They hand harvest and distill each lavender variety separately in small batches – using only the flowers – allowing the distinct characteristics to shine through. They offer a range of artisanal essential oils and handcrafted lavender products. Refreshing lavender lemonade and treats are also available. Visitors may harvest fresh lavender bundles, or they are happy to prepare it for you. Applegate River Lavender Farm also offers a variety of informative classes and farm experiences.
Applegate River Lavender Farm is open most weekends from mid-June through early August. Please check website for specific hours and availability.
