Excellent, Extensive Recreation Facility
This park is a large complex of facilities and running/biking trails next to the Willamette river, University of Oregon and Autzen stadium. There are pedestrian bridges that cross the river about every mile. Among the facilities are a community garden, outdoor amphitheater, frisbee golf, science center, boat launch, events area. Trails range from paved to wood chip covered (for runners), shaded forest to prairie. Ponds and canals run through the park. There are usually many ducks and geese. I mainly use the park for exercise and for that it is excellent. There is a problem with homeless, but during official hours it is generally safe. Things seem to be slowly improving in this regard. Recently I might see only one or two homeless on an entire visit.

Fabulous Place
Take our bikes and ride around all day. Great paths and the park and connecting areas always feel safe.

Rent a canoe!
Lovely park! So much to recommend here, but I'll focus on the option to rent a canoe (or kayak) and paddle around, or take the long walk to explore our solar system via relatively sized and spaced models of the sun and planets.

LOVE IT
Amazing park: went for a 5-mile run with my buddy, it was amazing. You get your choice of trails: asphalt, soft redwook bark, or even riverside rugged. Plenty of space on the wide trails. Lots of variety. Looks like kayaking would be nice in the canals. A good looking frisbee golf course. Conveniently located to the Residence Inn across the street.
