Pretty, large parking, paved trail but NOT FLAT
Pretty location. I am disabled, the path LOOKED paved and flat. It is paved. It is not flat. I needed help down and up to the first lookout so not wheelchair friendly or even rollator friendly. There is another lookout (boards and steps) off to the north so maybe that will work for you. Photo is of 1st lookout (as far as I got). They might think about a golf cart for those of us who can't do hills...just saying.

Definitely worth the stop
One of the better lighthouses as you can go inside and listen to the history of this lighthouse from friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. You can go up one level to just below the lenses. You take a short trail down to the lighthouse. Going back to the parking lot we went on another trail that parallels the one we took down. This trail offers views of the ocean and dramatic views of hills that were periodically covered by clouds. Amazing site. Don’t miss the Octopus Tree which is a short trail on the opposite side of the parking lot.

Punishment at Cape Meares
The volunteers at Cape Meares told the story of young adults who had shot out the lens and the punishment they received. Kudos to the judge for the appropriate response. Kudos to the volunteers for keeping history alive.

Cape Meares Lighthouse
Lovely, short walk from the parking lot to the Cape Meares Lighthouse! We were told that this is the shortest lighthouse on the Oregon coast. We were able to go up in the lighthouse, where we received a very informative talk about the history of the lighthouse. AMAZING views from the base of the lighthouse!

Cool tour of the lighthouse available
Opened for tours of the interior of the lighthouse done by volunteers. There's also a small gift shop inside. You can't go to the top where the lens is, but you can climb up to the upper level for the tour. Very interesting tour, with the volunteer docent presenting several facts about the lighthouse. Note, that this lighthouse is only open during the warmer months of the year. Views of the ocean are great from this location.
