Beautiful cherry trees. But limited as still under construction
Cherry trees in full bloom. Beautiful..wonderful walk. Parking is challenging. It’s all under construction. Thought see the Oregon records library. Nope..open door it’s all homeless. It smells like urine. Skip it

One of few different style US Capitols
So far we've visited more than half of US states and their Capitols as well. Mostly, they look very similar, based on DC Capitol - a huge neoclassic two wings building with front stairs and capitols which support the entrance roof and a big dome in the center. Oregon's capitol was different and I liked it very much. It's a long, but pretty low white marble edifice, with a Greek style Rotunda in the center instead of the dome. On top of it is a golden statue representing Oregon's first settlers. However, due to ongoing renovations we couldn't visit it, but took a nice stroll in a park across.

Tiny but beautiful
Tiny but beautiful. This is one of the smallest state capitols I have seen so far, but the building was beautifully designed. The surrounding park was peaceful.

Educational and pretty
Very beautiful and interesting family gathering space across the street from the capitol, decorated with cherry trees fully in bloom in April. The historical markers in the pavement gave interesting tidbits of information about the state, immigrants, and the pioneers who came to this land two centuries ago. Wonderful place to walk around with people celebrating graduation, pregnancies, and ethnic events.

Enjoyed so much and wanted to come back. The only thing that I don’t like is the rain like none stop
It was beautiful relaxing to just go around and see how they keep up this historic building. It’s so very keep up , manicured plants .
