Cloud Cap Inn

The Cloud Cap Inn (or Chalet) is a special building located in a very beautiful place, at the 6,000 foot level of the north side of Mt. Hood. It is also an old and historic place, built in 1889, that represents a time in the settlement of the area when Anglo American settlers began recreating in the mountains and turning to nature for relaxation and inspiration.

This site provides an interesting excursion into the alpine countryside while also providing a destination and interesting attraction. Members of The Crag Rats, a climbing club from Hood River that has the permit to occupy the Inn, will allow the public to come inside and see the rustic building. It is representational of traditional alpine architecture and for the most part is preserved as an historic lodge, looking much like it did over 100 years ago.
