With genealogy assistance and guided walks, the center offers a view into pioneer life after the journey ended. The hands-on exhibits are a great way for kids to try 19th-century tasks like making butter or candles, dressing up in pioneer clothes and fashioning rag dolls.

Great place to learn about the problems settlers encountered on the journey across the country. Good movies, wonderful hands on displays for children. Has a nice gift shop and open outdoor space. Would go back with grandkids
I went here hoping to find out more history of the area. This was the worst of the museums in the area that I visited (The other two were Fort Vancouver and The Columbia Gorge Interpretive center). The displays were cheesy and the descriptions were written on paper with very small type. In addition, it’s not ADA friendly. In the third section there are only stairs, and no ramps for the handicapped.
We drove the entire Oregon Trail and ended up at The End Of The Trail. This was the perfect ending to an incredible journey. This was the cherry on top. There are 3 main buildings taking you on the journey of starting in Missouri and planning your journey, the 2nd building is your journey and what you expecting to experience and the 3rd was what happened once you reached Oregon. This is exactly on the spot of the meadows where the pioneers ended their trip and made their land claims.
We've always enjoyed historical sites and learning about people's lives from the past so this was a logical stop for us on our journey since we were traveling through Portland. Not sure it's a destination that I'd go out of my way to see, but the museum, video and displays are worth spending a couple of hours exploring if you're in the area. It was a Wednesday morning in September so we were the only ones in the museum. Made it very nice to have the interpreter all to ourselves and we received very personalized information.
An absolutely wonderful interpretive center! It captured the Oregon trail experience to make it seem as if we were right there with them. Extra exhibits we hadn't seen before, including what they packed in their wagons for the long trips, and what they would have weighed. Gave a totally different look at how life was for those traveling west on the Oregon trail. The grounds surrounding the buildings are beautiful with plenty of grassy areas to sit and rest or enjoy a picnic. Definitely a must-see place!
