Have some real fun at Spirit Mountain Casino, a Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde enterprise. Located in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Vally, Spirit Mountain Casino is home to a 254 room lodge and 90,000 square feet of casino gaming (including nearly 2,000 slot machines and an abundance of table games).
Good but not Great
We stayed for 2 nights. The good: The price per night seemed ok initially. Our room with king size bed was spacious with a nice bathroom. The whole resort was clean with baseline expected staff courtesy. There is a good variety of old and new slot machines. There are self serve fountain drinks and coffee. The food, for the type it is, was good. The Not Great: The games didn’t seem to pay out as well as other places we’ve been. Nearby Chinook Casino paid much better. Very few table games. Even though signing up for rewards program and staying 2 nights absolutely no offers for free play. Chinook Casino offered many more table games and free play though we did not even stay there. Very little other choices close by for other food options, especially breakfast. Prices a little high for type of food, though normal for most casinos. Water pressure in shower was very low making it challenging to even wash and rinse hair for my wife. Very poor business sense related to accommodating guests staying and the resort and work being done in parking. They were repainting the parking lot and closed off the entire front section the whole time we were there. Instead of closing half of the lot left or right and leaving dedicated space for those lodging we had long walks to and from car. They also had unclear signs about what was closed when and called our room and woke us to tell us to go move our car, during the night, to an even further back section; and the next morning we would have been gone before workers even started. There was no offer for additional help with luggage, parking, etc amidst all the mess of the parking lot work going on; and even at baseline there was no luggage carts available or help offered with bags. Overall I would check out other casinos in the area first, both for play and especially if planning to stay a while and play. This casino/resort could be great with a little better management minded leadership probably, but wouldn’t be our first choice next time.
Another Casino on our list ......
We took our camper van to check out their new RV lot. The lot is nice, spaces are easy to get in to, short walk to the entrance to get to the casino. The casino was nice, but the slots were tight! Bonus paid very little on basic bets. We probably wouldn't go there specifically, but would stop in if we were passing by next time.
Not the greatest experience
It's too bad the room attendants are not more aware... our beds literally just had the covers pulled up. They were not 'made'. Our group highly recommended Amore' but we were super disappointed in the food as well as the service. The casino itself was fun and the lodge had nice beds. You can ask for a m8crowave to be put in the room if you want to bring heat and water and skip restaurant food. The sports bar had the best food options.
A bunch of electronic games
Not much of a "Casino" as it's all electronic games. That's their pride, to have the most electronic games in Oregon. If that's what you want, then go. It's clean and I felt safe. That's why 3 stars and not one. Only a handful of tables. One Craps, one Roulette , one Black jack, one 7 card or whatever and one other. All seats full. Behind the glass was the high stakes tables, all empty. Kind of reminded me of a theater lobby waiting for the movie to end. It was a Saturday night and very low excitement. Restaurants at that time, not very serviceable. Everybody working seemed like they wanted to go home, although they are open to early hours of the morning. They don't serve food past a certain time but they are open for some reason. The music was extremely loud it hurt at the Mountain Sports bar. I didn't have a good time to say the least. The Mountain Sports grill restaurant was poorly managed, service terrible and food was edible. They couldn't get anything right and we were simple orders. Nothing extra or worth it there. Alcohol in drinks, non-existent. Buy the bottled beer, at least you know you get a little alcohol. Make sure it's opened in front of you. Maybe better on event nights? Did not bother to stay over night but lodging might be ok? But based on the rest, idk. I am pretty easy going and understandable but geesh. First time in a casino in many many years. Very disappointed. I hope they continue to grow, expand and improve. It has potential if staffed and managed properly. Sorry, just my honest review.
Arrived no credit / debit machines working ! Staying over night ! Who carries cash these days ! Staff rude & unhelpful ! Had dinner at Amore restaurant over priced and really not that good ! As for casino nice not to have plough through smoke to sit at machine definitely wouldn’t go back
