Stay at the Crown in Portland
Went to watch the Warriors play the blazers. Stayed the night. Want to shout out for Michelle who just simply took care of us before and after the game on a really busy night!! Thank you Michelle I hope all your bosses know what a star they have in you! Know that I have been in this business for 30 years and rarely see the special service that we got. Took us back to a great table that she said she could help us bettter cause she saw how tired we were from walking all over the place! Uber for two blocks would have been $55! Yikes hoof it and stay at the Crown! You’ll be happy! Take a swim and eat brunch buffet but say hi to Michelle!

You do not get what you pay for!
Nice hotel, I would have expected to be treated better than a hotel 6! I was here for a TSO concert. Check in was ok, I checked in on there app as it was supposed to make it fast.Everything the app said it would do, did not happen, my key was not ready and waiting as it stated it would be. The whole check in was really much longer than other IHG hotels. The concert was over at about 10:30, uber'd back to the hotel. Front door was locked, which I can understand. There was a sign that said, use you room card to get in.... I spent at-least 15 min trying to figure out how to use my room key to open the door, all the while 2 people behind the desk completely ignored me, finally another guest let me in and said they couldn't find the key swipe either. Bar and restaurant were getting ready to close, so I went to the pantry and found a sandwich, same 2 people still behind the counter, completely ignored me, after 10 min or so, I just put the sandwich back and returned to my room. Never ever again will I stay here!

Good hotel. Fitness OK, Shuttle Service not so much
Overall, this is a very good hotel, just what you would expect. Clean, comfortable, staff is friendly and competent. No major concerns. Two details: Fitness center is adequate. Three treadmills, one stationary bike, two ellipticals, couple weights and floor mats. Machines are good quality (Precor) but one of the ellipticals was broken the 3 days I was there. They also have a pool that I did not visit. Shuttle service to the airport was a mess. They don't pick you up on demand, have to wait until they schedule a trip. I got to the airport at 9pm. It was very busy because of a large convention that started the next day (which is why I was there, too). They said it would take at least 45 minutes before they could get to the airport. I got a cab, $65.- with tip. And had to wait 15 minutes at the airport because there were not enough cabs. Later I learned about the light rail that goes right to the convention center (5 minutes walk to hotel, in OK neighborhood). Takes 30 minutes (same as the cab) and costs $2.50. Why does the hotel even have the shuttle? They could at least have pointed out the existence of the light rail, Still, I want to say that overall I was very happy with the stay. Those were just details.

Nice Portland hotel
Overall our stay here was nice. The hotel isn't in the safest of areas (no fault to the hotel) but we still felt safe with all of their safety protocols (lobby door locked after hours and needing to swipe your hotel key to use the elevators to the rooms). Hotel room was clean and spacious for me and my sister. We appreciated the convenience of the in room mini fridge and microwave. One thing that we didn't necessarily like are the automatic nightlights in the room and bathroom as they were really bright. We understand that it's for safety but we had to cover the one in the room bc it was so bright.

Very Comfortable Stay for a Week
I stayed here during my association's annual conference, being held at the Oregon Convention Center, so as a senior staff member, I was given a one-bedroom suite. The location is an easy 10-minute walk to the OCC, as long as it's not raining. Unfortunately, it poured down rain most mornings, so I often took a Lyft or Uber that was fairly inexpensive and arrived quickly. Check-in was easy, staff were nice, and the one-bedroom suite was very roomy and spacious and comfortable. Each one is a bit different (I saw a few other colleagues' suites). Mine opened into a small eat-in kitchen, with a square table, four chairs, completely set for dinner, and then all of the kitchen along one wall, with a sink, microwave, larger (not full size and not mini)fridge, lots of kitchenware, etc. This was perfect for me because I eat a specific way and like to order my own food through UberEats and then prepare and bring it with me for the day at the convention center. (Some of the other kitchens have a bar with barstools instead of a table, which I liked better, but not a big deal.) Past the kitchen is the living room, with two sofas, a coffee table, a large screen TV, and a desk/chair area with plenty of room to work. As a communications director, I used this quite a lot to work in my room. A door near the work area leads into the one bedroom/bathroom suite, which is huge. There is a full-size closet with two sliding doors that also have full length mirrors on them. A king size bed features fluffy pillows and comforter. A big dresser also holds a big-screen TV. There are two bedside tables, an armchair in the corner near the entrance to the bathroom, and plenty of windows. The bathroom features a huge shower, towels on a warming bar, a big vanity/counter with plenty of space for your stuff, makeup mirror, hairdryer, etc. This was a very comfie room to spend a week in and I really enjoyed it. For me, it was a perfect set up. There was a small bar downstairs and a sitting area with a fireplace. I did have a drink with colleagues there one evening, and it was nice. The area around the hotel is decent (there's a senior living apartment building across the street), so walking through the neighborhood to the main street that takes you to the OCC is safe. The sidewalks are a bit broken up. But once you are on the main street and walking to the OCC, the closer you get to that area, the situation deteriorates. There is a large population of homeless people, most of whom appear to suffer from mental illness, and they can be aggressive, so be very careful and don't interact with them. In fact, if you are a woman walking alone, regardless of time of day, I would recommend taking a cab or rideshare to and from the OCC. However, I did not see any homeless individuals around the hotel. The grounds are immaculate and there is security, so no need to worry about that at this property.
