Great staff; infrastructure needs attention
First: The staff was real quite good and friendly. The property, however, need some attention to its infrastructure. The enhanced Wi-Fi, available free as part of my membership level with Marriott, was very weak and ineffective. The water pressure on the 16th floor frequently cut out in the shower 1 to 5 times per shower and then restarted. It seems that Marriott needs to pay attention to some of the infrastructure for this building if they are going to continue using the Marriott name.

Don't bother staying in city
This was only booked cause we thought it would be cleaner and safest. The room was extremely nice. There was no parking, but a garage a block away.We got a valet 50.00 for 24 hours cause there were homeless people on every corner. Now, not the hotel's fault, so many homeless people. The front doors, lobby, lobby coffee area and bar were dirty and unkept. I expected more from 200.00 plus 50.00 valet upscale hotel. I needed a shower after waking through.

Accounting mess
The room was fine. My card was charged in the middle of the night for $217.68 (in addition to the security deposit) even though my reservation was prepaid. They could not explain why. We had the charge removed, and then it reappeared a day later, only this time it was $417.68 (erroneous charge + security deposit). Still no explanation. We called after we checked out - after the invoice showed a zero balance and they confirmed it was resolved - and they removed it again. A pending refund showed up on my card for the full amount. A day later, the $417.68 charge was back on my card, and the refund was gone. So, we had to make yet another call. Maybe this time it will be resolved. I will never stay in this hotel again. If your accounting department can't function properly, there is no reason to recommend a stay. Apologies can only go so far when it continues to be an issue.

Disappointing Stay in Portland
Location and the size of my room were the only real highlights of my 4 night stay. The internet was absolutely terrible - and when you need your laptop for work, this is a bit of an issue. Although my room was pretty big and had a decent city view, it felt dirty. Dust everywhere, hair on the bathroom floor and shower, yuck. The shower took a solid 5 minutes to be warm enough to get in and twice the water literally stopped briefly while I was showering - and when it came back on, it was freezing. My sink also was barely draining. Front desk staff and valet were great, appreciate their quick help with check-in and retrieving my car. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Amazing service and staff!
Loved my overall experience the housekeeping staff went above and beyond in keeping the room, clean and organized. The restaurant called social spoon is very convenient to access and get meals at. The location is perfect for business meetings.
