Wonderful
We may have had a small snafu in the beginning but Colleen handled everything like a pro and we had such a phenomenal time in Portland. Beautiful room, beautiful courtyard, beautiful views. All around a wonderful place. Thanks again to the Front Desk Staff.

Truck was robbed , ransacked and window was smashed
My truck was vandalized, robbed and ransacked while staying at this Marriott July 2025. My truck was parked at this Marriot cause I was staying there, as I flew out and came back. My truck was robbed, window was smashed and some of my personal items were strewn in parking lot. management didn’t care , just a shoulder shrug and said “ it is Portland” . Management did give me a broom to clean up the glass and my truck though, thanks for that. Ironically though the thieves were very nice, they shut my doors after ransacking my vehicle ( being sarcastic) imo, im sure someone saw what was happening and shut my doors and never contacted me. My opinion, this was a targeted, planned theft because of my out of state plates. Be careful here at this hotel. After paying full price for my almost week stay, I had to get my window replaced and start my drive home to NY. My advice, don’t stay at this hotel, seems like a normal issue here

The views are so serene. It is clean, safe parking and wonderful staff.
This adorable hotel is tucked away behind the traffic and businesses. They have a huge courtyard right on the river with fire pits for cozy seating. It is an excellent place to take your drinks or food outside and enjoy the views. The gazebo with twinkling lights is a big plus. There is a great restaurant and bar on site. Colleen Shank was just wonderful in helping us while we were there.

Hell night
Nightmare experience. 1- Took over an hour to get into our room when we arrived after 10pm. Tried checking in with bon voy app but it wouldn’t allow me to do so within an hour. Several rounds of room and garage keys were broken, didn’t work, even hotel staff couldn’t get us into the room we had booked, after escorting us there. Traipsing up and down slow elevators with our luggage close to midnight… Ultimately had to change rooms. 2. Parking is in a garage - keys also didn’t work so had hassle there too. 3. Coffee bar in AM had massive line, slow, espresso machine broke, etc. Multiple people had to leave/bail after ordering because even simple things took forever. Despite pleasant attitude of hotel staff, this place seems to be understaffed everywhere resulting in a terrible experience for anyone who is trying to get in and out quickly. 4. Room was ehh. We didn’t get the river view we had booked due to the key issue and our windows only had a thing, see-thru curtain and we were facing a parking lot and street. 5. Not the hotel’s fault but the surrounding area felt really unsafe. Driving there we passed multiple nearby homeless encampments, people who appeared to be doing drugs and wandering around, and sketchy RVs. The front desk manager was very kind and understanding, so thank you for making an attempt to have good service. Still, we couldn’t wait to check out - this hotel was overall nothing like the photos and pretty awful. Needs to staff up, upgrade their key system/infrastructure, improve training and speed at coffee bar, and work with the local area/elected officials to have a voice on community safety and clean-up. Will try Hilton next time…

The Staff at this hotel needs hospitality retraining.
I cannot say anything good about this hotel. from the check in experience. The quality of rooms (The showers and sinks over flow). The restaurant staff and hotel staff are less than hospitable. We had a horrible experience at the hotel restaurant. Especially with Cameron. Who needs some retraining. Food was terrible and extremely late. We couldn't eat togeth. and I had to ask several times where my food was after the table had been served. When the check came I asked for a manager and Sharon had left. NO MOD on property! At 9pm We'll I explained to Cameron that I would not pay for the food but we would pay for our drinks. He very Intimidatingly told me I either accept his 15% off of he would call the police for theft of service. I accepted his strong arm we paid the bills. I am next contacting Marriott and waiting for Carol the manager to call me. Also Juan at the front desk at check in left us at the desk because he had to use the bathroom. And any request was followed by a scoff. This hotel is not welcoming at all. Except the bartender who the hotel sets up for failure with no help on a busy night do to the boat parade. How is there not a MOD when they open it to public to come watch the parade. On to Corporate complaints I go and every review site I can.
