Wonderful hotel
The bed was super comfortable. The view of the Columbia River from the room was wonderful with all its birds, little diving ducks and some kind of elegant small geese. You can watch it for hours. The amount of freight going through the Gorge is impressive; you can see miles of trains on the Washington side, but you cannot hear them. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel and each meal was delicious. The dining room is very comfortable and the view of the river, and the hills beyond it, is very nice. All the windows are sparkling clean I walked along a trail that went under the green bridge; you can walk all the way into town from there. I very much enjoyed not having to get in the car to go anywhere. All the staff were polite and pleasant and the room was very clean.

We have been staying at this hotel for the past 20 years and always had a positive experience. We even brought 50 guests in for a wedding who all stayed 4 nights. Unfortunately, this time, it was a negative experience. In the past, we have always been given restaurant vouchers. When we didn't receive them for this stay of 4 nights, we were told by the day manager, that "the hotel is privately owned and we can pick and choose who we give vouchers to". When I told the manager that we are Best Western Rewards members, she said it didn't matter. I also told her this was discrimination, she said that "because this hotel is private, they can do whatever they want." There are too many other quality places to stay in Hood River and we will never stay at the Best Western Plus again. I would recommend that no one stays here.

Thanksgiving Celebration.
Great location, very comfortable rooms and amazing restaurant. All staff is very friendly. We also took the dog, great area to hi for long walks.
