Beautifully appointed hotel!
Well equipped room and very artistically decorated. Comfortable bed and shower. Coffee filter didn't match the coffeemaker. One side of closet door didn't slide. Needed towel hook next to shower door. The instructions should include the name on the building (Bora Building) because it was a commercial building with a name different from that of the hotel. We were confused and had to call for info. There's no reception desk but the instructions for entering and finding our room were clear. Close enough to walk to two restaurants (Frontera Sur - great! - and Nostrana).

Scam
Stayed there this weekend. Brad the owner refused to give the access codes until we paid him more money on top of the reservation, then the codes didn’t work. Brad refused to answer emails and phone calls and once he did, he was condescending and abusive. The entire point of the reservation was to have a place to stay and Brad withheld that. Horrible person and the property was hastily thrown together as a money-grab. Do not support this predatory business!

Peace of mind in a city location
My wife and I went to Portland to visit friends and relatives, and to tour the state. We used Violet Suites PDX as a base for our visit, so did not spend a lot of time in the unit except for morning breakfast and evening return/sleeping. We stayed in the Hazlenut suite which is one of the smaller units in the complex but found it much, much more spacious and clean than a typical hotel room, like an efficiency apartment--large bathroom, and a stacked washer/dryer which was really helpful as our trip lasted about 10 days and we could wash clothes mid-week instead of packing larger suitcases. Well stocked, full cooking facilities and fridge were greatly appreciated--better than many timeshares we've stayed at over the years. Extremely quiet with little noise from neighbors or the street. Secure and safe, the locked on-site parking lot, building and room let us sleep without worry. The location was convenient for a drive to the airport, downtown Portland, local restaurants, as well as getting to the Columbia River Gorge. Although there was no front desk as such, the manager and staff were very responsive to our questions or room needs in person or by cell phone during the trip. All in all, we would definitely stay there again. A very nice alternative to a typical hotel stay.

The most beautiful hotel in Portland Oregon!
This hotel is a true hidden gem in Portland! Let me break down why I loved it so much based on five key criteria: 1. Safety: 10/10 If safety is your top priority, this is the place to stay. Compared to many Airbnb apartments, Violet Suites PDX feels incredibly secure. They've got locks for the parking area, the main door, and the rooms all using keypads. Plus, there are cameras everywhere. There's plenty of parking too. 2. Comfort: 10/10 The rooms are spotless and super convenient. From the outside, it might look like a typical commercial building, but inside, it’s like stepping into a beautiful castle. The photos on the website are exactly what you get in real life, which is rare. The room is packed with modern amenities, including new laundry machines and an impressive array of coffee-making tools, complete with coffee beans and a grinder. Whoever designed this place clearly has a great eye for detail. 3. Price: 10/10 The price is a steal! When my family and I arrived, my mom couldn't believe how affordable it was. She even asked if I had made a mistake with the booking because the room was so nice. We laughed about it because it was such a great deal. It's the best room design I've seen in the US, and it made us feel like we were getting so much more than we paid for. 4. Cleanliness: 10/10 The place is incredibly clean and smells wonderful. It was renovated in 2023, and it shows. Everything from the towels to the kitchen and the bedding is pristine. Our relatives, who have lived in Portland for almost 20 years, were also blown away by how nice the room was. They're planning to recommend it to their friends. 5. Care: 10/10 We arrived late at 11:00 PM and were a bit bummed not to see anyone at the front desk. But then I found detailed instructions on my phone about how to get in, and it was super easy. This hotel uses a convenient self-service system, so just make sure to check your phone messages. The property manager is super friendly and attentive. Whenever we needed anything, she was right there to help. I really wish more hotels in the US focused on this level of care and functionality. So many expensive hotels look fancy on the outside and in the lobby, but the rooms themselves can be disappointing. What really matters is the room you stay in, and Violet Suites PDX gets that perfectly. I regret not taking photos to share, but I will definitely be coming back to Portland and staying at this hotel again. Many times over.
