We stayed at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland for a long weekend of exploring the city and enjoying Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs. The hotel is a great base as it’s centrally located in downtown Portland, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and transit. Check in was smooth and friendly and the lobby has that signature Hyatt Centric eclectic vibe of modern, colorful, and casual. Our room was slightly compact, which is pretty on par for the brand, but it was comfortable and good value for the area. There is a lobby restaurant and bar which we only stopped in for drinks, but the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Overall this is a solid choice when visiting Portland.

Best Hyatt in Portland
We are locals and do staycations regularly here. It’s consistently the best Hyatt in town for service and price. It’s right near everything interesting downtown. We love the bar and the main bartender at night (Annie?). Alyssa at the market in the morning is wonderful. The front desk are some of the nicest and most helpful we’ve experienced at a Hyatt, which is a high bar. The new globalist breakfast is a big miss, though. The changes to the menu and food quality are a let down especially considering how good it used to be.

Jake was extra extraordinary

Loved it - just what we were looking for
Outstanding property and the location could not be better. Easy to get from the airport using the MAX light rail. Once you're there, there is a streetcar just outside the hotel. We took the streetcar to the NW neighborhood for Salt & Straw ice cream. Near the hotel are many, many restaurants. There's also room service and a restaurant at the hotel which looked good. Our breakfast the next morning was exceptionally good. If you are sensitive to noise, request a higher floor - we didn't notice street noise but we were on the 15th floor. We love that the floors are hard surfaces instead of carpet. Beds were very comfortable, too.
