Do not check in after 11pm
The night auditor has no clue of looking after guests. The reservation was prepaid and he did not know how to charge a card. Quite unlike for the role of a night auditor. Anyway at 4am guest wasnt able to check in as the 'policy' is no check in until they can charge a card for extras. I suppose there should be a policy for 'Training Night Auditor on Customer Service' and basic etiquette I was then advised the guest was getting upset and abusive. Sad that hotel takes money, doesnt provide service and then complaints about its guests

Great location for the Convention Center, but can use work.
We stayed for Fan Expo 2026 at the Oregon Convention Center. Nothing beats this location if you’re attending an event there. Extra convenient, there’s a decent coffee bar adjoining the lobby. This isn’t my first time experiencing this hotel as I’ve stated before with friends whenever visiting Portland. But this was the first time I was less than happy. We arrived early, and they happily held our bags for us until the room was ready. However, when we got to the room it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. There were food particles in the drawers; a whole potato chip and cookie. There was a large carpet stain by one of the night stands and splatters on the wall by the front door like someone had dropped a beverage. We were tired from our day and just wanted to rest awhile before venturing back out for dinner, so we didn’t ask for a room change. We gave the room a quick wipe down and moved on with our stay. This hotel is good. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and super convenient amenities available. Better for corporate visitors, rather than families. The years of wear and tear are beginning to show, but all could be overlooked with meticulous cleanliness.

Incredible place
This location was incredible! The hotel itself was amazing, the staff very friendly and great customer service. We used the conference rooms for our Sales Teams Summit. We also ate at the top roof restaurant with great views and amazing food! I can’t wait to host our annual BDM Summit here again! And every time I travel to Portland for business, this will be my go to place!

Sorry, we are moving on.
Done. We drive a couple of hours from the coast looking forward to a lovely stay in Portland regularly! As guests, we have expectations for a smooth, welcoming and quiet experience. This was our fifth stay at this hotel. For any management team that is a golden customer and a golden opportunity to let the customer know they are appreciated. No so here. This time, unfortunately, they were filming something when we tried to check in and it was a disaster from trying to park to reaching the front desk. Which I was rudely told was not allowed. That’s when I realized that the lobby was overcrowded with an arrogant, entitled film crew along with many hanger ons! OMG, totally rude. No arrangement was apparent for the off chance the front desk might be needed at check in time? Not only that but this time we were given a room near the tram and we could hear it and the train all night, add on a very noisy room refrigerator and we did not sleep well. Housekeeping is now only available if ordered the night before— if you request it before midnight. Then, after being told at check out that the price of parking has increased to $43 per night and a not great experience in the restaurant the night before —- we are saying thanks but no thanks and moving on. I mean, really, we can stay at the Benson for the same price, what are they thinking??? The valet, Jason, I should add, saved the day and was super nice and helped us sort through it all. Thanks Jason.

Eastlund Hotel by Best Western in Portland, Or
What a disappointment this hotel was. The hotel is built besides Portland's light rail. Apparently, several of the rooms are very susceptible to the light rails continuous noise. We were unfortunate enough to be in one of those rooms. We complained to the from desk about the noise and asked to be moved. They indicated that they were aware of the noise problem in our certain block of rooms but could not move us that night. I would have left but had already prepaid for the room. I got no sleep at all. It was terrible. Upon our departure I reached out to the manager of the hotel and requested compensation for the one night I didn't get any sleep. They offered me a free room upgrade next time I stay there. Well, at this point I have no plans on staying there. After I rejected the managers offer, he ghosted me. I did contact and submitted a complaint with Best Western Corporate, which oversees hotels that use their name. Corporate was very nice but did nothing - they took notes. I was very disappointed on BW Corporate lack of input on how their customers are treated at their associated hotels. At this point I cannot not recommend the Eastlund hotel in Portland nor can I recommend any Best Western hotel for their lack of concern for their customers. This could had been so easy to resolve. But some silly manager stuck his heals in the ground and refused to move. What a disappointment, what a shame.
