Nickel and dimed by a variety of taxes and charges. For example, on a per night basis our folio included 11 different taxes and charges. The "amenity fee transient" @ $73.90 per night was the "grand prize" winner. Beautiful property and nice staff but this will be our last stay. Much better values exist on the Oregon coast.

Best hotel on our trip!
Absolutely amazing. The view was incredible, the room was cozy and fantastic, the food was great. We loved every moment.

Know before you go. There is very little to do in Pacific City. Fine for a day or two max. That said the hotel is very nice and rooms were great. The service is where they fall down and the restaurant definitely earns its 3 star Yelp review. The staff was not welcoming at all.

A Five-Star Escape That Feels a World Away
We spent a couple of nights at Headlands Lodge in a King Sunlight Room, and the entire experience was top-notch. The hotel is beautifully designed and strikes a balance that’s hard to get right: approachable and down-to-earth, while still feeling like a true five-star experience. Nothing felt overly formal or pretentious. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuine, and the entire property feels connected to the natural beauty and character of Pacific City. One of the absolute highlights was the Adventure Team. We had an incredible guide and did the Salmon River kayak trip out toward the ocean. It had a little bit of everything and was easily one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had traveling. We’ve been fortunate to travel extensively around the world, from Thailand and China to destinations throughout Europe, and this little getaway on the Oregon Coast ranks right up there with some of our favorite trips. It’s amazing that somewhere within driving distance can make you feel so completely away from it all. Headlands isn’t inexpensive, but we felt it was absolutely worth the cost and a great value for the overall experience. The one area that didn’t quite reach the same level for us was Meridian restaurant, but there are some wonderful locally and family-owned places in Pacific City for both breakfast and dinner that are well worth exploring. Overall, we couldn’t recommend Headlands Lodge more highly. Beautiful setting, thoughtful design, wonderful people, incredible outdoor experiences, and a genuine sense of escape. We can’t wait to go back.
