Great place to eat and stay.

Cousins has consistently been a great place to have a very good meal for many years. They won't disappoint!! We have reasons to stay overnight at least once a month, so our first place to think of staying was Cousins because of the excellent service and cleanliness we have experienced for 30+ years.

I had extremely loud neighbors. Kid crying every hour, someone snoring all night. People above me sounded like elephants. Needless to say I didn't sleep much!@

Charming, Comfortable. Convenient

The Cousins Country Inn is conveniently located just off I-84 in the Dalles, Oregon, along the Columbia River. The motel part is set back behind their restaurant (which closes at 9:00 p.m.) and was surprisingly quiet for being so close to the highway. We had single queen accessible room that was the most accommodating we've ever seen. All doors were extra wide and the sills negligible. Although we had an exterior door, it felt very secure and had high and low peepholes. The room was furnished with a table and two chairs (yay!) and room enough for the wheelchair on the third side. The bed was quite comfortable and just the right height for me to climb in without a booster step. The roll-in shower was separate from the rest of the bathroom, and there was room enough to maneuver a wheelchair throughout. The shower drain was placed so that the water stayed in the shower! Amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were conveniently placed within reach on the shower wall. We were traveling on a deadline and did not avail ourselves of the Cousins Restaurant, which smelled divine. They offered a 20% discount for breakfast which looked like more food than we wanted so early in the morning. We would definitely stay here again when in the area, especially if we had more time. In our rush to leave in the morning, we unknowingly left behind some prescription medication. Christina called us that afternoon to report that housekeeping had found it and offered to mail it to our final destination. Such great customer service! I would definitely recommend this motel for a nice weekend trip.

Convenient quick overnight

Rooms are typical motel rooms. Clean. The rooms aren't the most sound proof. It's comfortable and you get 20% off breakfast in the morning. The area used to be nicer, but it still is safe and the staff is friendly and attentive.

Attending class

I stayed at Cousins overnight to be able to attend a basketry class offered at the community college on Saturday morning. It was in close proximity so it worked out well for me. I traveled alone, felt welcome and comfortable.
