Oregon offers vast and varied mountain and dirt biking trail systems—from the high-desert singletrack of Central Oregon to the forested trails of Southern Oregon and the flowing descents around Hood River. But for many women, getting into these traditionally male-dominated sports can feel intimidating at first. That’s why women-led clinics and camps across the state provide an inviting, supportive entry point—offering skill-building, camaraderie, and a space to grow confidence both on and off the trail.
The women-owned organizations are led by top-tier athletes and coaches. Dirtastic is a dirt biking community recently acquired by former professional motocross racer Cortney Carpenter. The organization has been in operation for ten years, offering empowering off-road retreats and skills clinics across the state. On the mountain biking side, Ladies AllRide—founded and led by former professional rider Lindsey Richter—helps women build confidence and community through immersive camps and instruction. Together, these programs represent some of the best opportunities in Oregon for riders to gain skills, forge connections, and access the state’s expansive trail systems.

Women’s Mountain Biking in Oregon
Across Oregon, women are finding confidence on two wheels, thanks in large part to Ladies AllRide. Based in Bend and launched in 2010, Ladies AllRide has grown from a handful of local skills clinics into a nationwide movement, with signature camps held each year in iconic biking zones like Post Canyon in Hood River, Phil’s Trail and Wanoga Trail in Bend, and the lush, loamy singletrack of Oakridge.
Each camp combines professional instruction with personal empowerment, creating an inclusive environment where riders of all levels can develop skills, confront their fears, and form lasting friendships.
“It’s not just about riding,” says Richter. “Our goal has always been to offer more than just mountain bike skills camps, we wanted to create a space where women feel safe, supported, and inspired to challenge themselves. Learning alongside other women in a positive, uplifting environment helps riders build confidence not just in their bike handling skills, but in themselves.”
One-Time and Multi-Week Clinics
For women looking to take the leap—or level up their trail game, there are a wide range of welcoming and women-focused mountain bike programs across Central Oregon, including:
- Grit Clinics – Also co-founded by Richter, Grit Clinics offers co-ed and women-only instruction in Bend for all ages and levels, with sessions tailored to meet riders where they are—mentally and physically.
- Cog Wild – This Bend-based outfitter offers skills instruction and private one-on-one coaching on some of the area’s best singletrack, led by certified guides.
- Bachelor Bike Park – Look for the new “Women of the Dirt” series and women-focused clinics hosted on the lift-accessed trails at Mt. Bachelor.
- Pine Mountain Sports – The beloved local Bend shop offers group rides in partnership with Dirt Divas and Bend Women’s Cycling. These social, no-drop mountain bike meetups for women are great for building fitness and friendship.
- Crank Queens – The organization launched its first camps in Bend for Fall 2025, offering its “New to the Bike” program—the perfect entry point for biking beginners.

With a seasoned roster of female coaches, Dirtastic offers more than just dirt biking instruction—it delivers an experience rooted in empowerment, skill-building, and community. The organization hosts multi-day camps, hands-on skills clinics, and weekend retreats that welcome riders of all levels allowing women to progress at their own pace while surrounded by encouragement and expertise.
Oregon offers more than 50 designated riding areas, plus miles of Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service lands (check the Oregon OHV Guide for up-to-date info).
Their flagship gathering, the Dirtastic Main Event, held each June, brings women together for a weekend of riding, camping, and connection on 1,200-plus acres of scenic terrain in Jacksonville, just outside Medford. Expect supportive coaching, epic trails, and a whole lot of good vibes.
“The goal is to create a space for women to gather and do hard things together,” says Dirtastic’s Carpenter. “It’s about camaraderie and confidence.”
Throughout the season, Dirtastic also hosts smaller clinics focused on fundamentals, along with group rides that foster a growing community of confident, connected female riders.
