Friendly staff, cozy cabin, amazing scenery
Been coming to Shelter Cove for 15 years. This year, there seems to be a whole new staff on hand. They were very friendly, helpful, and extremely accommodating. The cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable. Fishing was slow, and the weather didn’t cooperate, but we had an amazing time with our family! We will be back soon.

Corporate, not luxury.
Every year this beautiful place gets more run down. When it was privately owned, it was awesome. Now, it's a corporate money grab. The docks are in disrepair, the cabins never get deep cleaned and basic maintenance is ignored. Odell Lake is an absolute gem, but Shelter Cove is unpredictable at best and very overpriced for what one gets. Note: All the cabin photos were taken when it was privately owned and operated. All that cozy furniture and cute lodge rugs are really old now, and really, really dirty. Staff are nice, but it's the hospitality industry. I expect that.

Angry and very disappointed in the management of this company.
Actually we are not going this year, we had reservations for June 27 - July 1 and someone there arbitrally changed our reservations to June 22 - June 28th without notifly us and also they raised that rate 800.00 for that reservation. This is no way to do business in a world likje it is. You need to make nice and not make mad. Concequently we have cancelled our reservation after going there for many years. They don't care is the attitude I got back from them. Karen Duffy

So close but easily fixable
The photo on the website for the 2 bedroom lodge shows the the upstairs 3 bedroom unit and we assumed we booked the unit with lofted living area / large window - when we found that was not what we actually were getting we were offered no adjustment / upgrade, I did call back later and offered to pay more for the upstairs unit if it could be discounted and promised to close off one bedroom so only 2 bedrooms would be used but was declined. Since we knew the weather would probably not be great we very much wanted the extra light / view since we were probably going to be indoors the majority of the stay. Only 2 porch chairs for a 4 person unit. Super bright overhead lighting was main option, no table/floor lamps in den area.
