Halfway

Set in a beautiful valley at the southern base of the Wallowa Mountains and just 55 miles from Baker City, Halfway is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.

Located along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway (All-American Road) and near the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, visitors can enjoy hiking, rafting and jet-boating, sightseeing, camping, fishing and simply relaxing. The Pine Valley Community Museum tells of the area’s mining, ranching and recreation history. In winter, the community comes alive with snowmobiling enthusiasts who enjoy the easy access from town to hundreds of miles of groomed trails and wide-open play areas.
