Arlington

World-class windsurfers aren’t the only ones drawn to Arlington.

With a prime location on the banks of the Columbia River, Arlington marks the west end of the Blue Mountain Scenic Byway, a once harrowing obstacle for Oregon Trail pioneers, now an delightful drive. Take a dip in the river at Arlington’s main park, check out the tremendous wind turbines, tee off at the golf course or yell “yeehaw!” at the annual rodeo in May. Nearby, the John Day and Deschutes rivers beckon for rafting and fishing trips.
