Cocktails!!
This is a great little dive-ish bar, tucked away down by the river. Mid afternoon wasnât a runaway but business was brisk with regulars and folks from the Marriot just down the street. The bar is well stocked and the bartender that afternoon was both gifted and engaging. She made a perfect Aviation. That she knew what an Aviation is AND how to make one is testimony to their chops with cocktails. Give this cool place a try. Youâll be pleased.

A memorable spot
Loved this place... quirky, lively, good food and drinks. Seating was a little uncomfortable but it was crowded so maybe that's a good thing. Outdoor seating was nice.

Classic Tavern frozen In time!
Best Patty melt on Rye bread ever! Passing through on way to McMinneville. This was my absolute favorite Tavern to hang out and play pool and drink micro brew beers in early 90âs while attending OSU. First time in 30 yrs that I could actually stop and eat at the downstairs tables. It was like taking a step back in time. Squirrel âs hasnât changed one bit! Still had my favorite beer on tap and the best burgers ever. I was even fortunate to see the owner, who hasnât changed a bit either, who I believe sort of remembered me as he smiled and said hello to me. I love this Tavern and highly recommend it to those who want a fun relaxed, welcoming atmosphere to enjoy with family and friends. To those who think they are good enough to play, be sure to go up stairs and challenge the winner on either pool table. Love this place!

Meh
An older, tired establishment with a mid-70s, R Crumb-like funky college student vibe. The reuben sandwich was good, the standard hamburger looked good, cheese steak was okay. Fries were well overdone.

Squirrels is the best!
I love Squirrels. Been going there since I was an undergraduate in 1975. I am from the east and only get there 1-2 times a year, but it's always great - just the best. Saw the owner Greg maybe two years ago - he was just as friendly with me as when we first talked as young men nearly 50 years ago. The food is great, the beer prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is great - I can't say enough good things about this place! Go there - you won't be disappointed!
