Big Tree Trail

This listing is provided by Travel Southern Oregon

One of the short hikes in and around the Oregon Caves Monument. A great afternoon hike, a steep climb takes you through mountain meadows and forests, past the widest-girthed Douglas-fir tree known to exist in Oregon. 3.3-mile loop. Strenuous, steep climbs and switchbacks.

Note: Expect snow to persist on the meadows and the higher elevation, north-facing slopes into mid-to-late spring.
