June 8, 2026464kikiA Bit Overpriced, but a Decent Place to Visit
I enjoyed going here with my husband on our trip, but it's a pretty small facility with a couple of aviaries just completely empty on purpose for training. We spent a little over an hour touring the place and got to see lots of cool birds up-close. Their cages were pretty large with one bird in each. Plenty of room to fly and lots of different perches too. They also had ways to escape the sun or noisy children and clean water when needed. The infographs were decent, but it would've been nice to see what the native ranges of the birds are. Admission is $16 for adults and for something that is barely an hour long of a tour it might not feel like it's worth your money. However, I'm personally ok with that price because this center does something that I haven't really seen a bird sanctuary do often, and that is offering a public wildlife clinic. Locals can bring injured raptors or even some native bird species into the clinic to get fixed and rehabilitated for wild release. I feel this place is valued at maybe a $10 admission, but if my extra $6 is also going to support medical expenses for wildlife, that makes it ok for me. They have lots of sponsors and partners that probably help cover some costs for managing the land and aviaries. I do kind of wish they had more to do or see at the facility other than the occasional bird show if you just plan to stop by. While they do have events and private tours, they were either very expensive for a small facility, not at the location, or sold out. Maybe if you're a local and feel truly devoted to the place then the prices feel reasonable, but as a tourist it felt a little bit out of reach price-wise.

Cascades Raptor Center in Eugene is a total hidden gem! Nestled on a wooded hillside, it feels like a secret forest sanctuary. Their new snowy owl, Echo, is an absolute star seeing those bright yellow eyes up close is a core memory moment. The center does amazing rehab work, and the vibe is super chill and educational. It’s the perfect spot to geek out over birds and support a great cause!

Educational and great for the whole family!
We liked it! There were lots of birds and it was decently wheelchair accessible. I also liked that everything you bought in the shop went to donations to them. The volunteers were really nice and knowledgeable too. There was this one owl that was screeching and it was really cool! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something fun to do with your family and in the area.

A great stop outside Eugene!
What a gem! Stopped in for 2 hours on a misty Sunday morning with my college-aged biology-major son. They have really informative signs up about each Raptor on display - explaining how they came to be there and what their day to day life is like, what kind of enrichment they engage in, etc. We peered through the window of the on-site medical center, and spent a few dollars in the well-appointed gift shop. We learned a lot, enjoyed seeing the different species there (Bald eagle, owls, hawks, falcons, kestrels and more), and were grateful to the folks that work and volunteer there. We didn't see any of the presentations and education they do where you might get to see one of the raptors up close - that would be great to check out too, especially for younger visitors I would imagine.
