About Heathen Honey Bee Hut

This bee hut is one of only a few in the entire United States. Visitors arrive at the hut surrounded by orchards, lavender fields, nearby nesting bald eagles, and the gorgeous Umpqua River just steps away. Inside the cedar hut, guests relax on benches above 50,000-100,000 honey bees, safely contained in their hives beneath fine metal mesh.

People often schedule visits as a way to slow down, relax, meditate, ground themselves, read or write quietly, or simply to experience something completely different. Enjoy the collective hum, subtle vibration, and rich scent of the hive while experiencing a style of apitherapy that has been practiced in Europe for decades. The warm aroma of cedar, wax, honey, and propolis creates a subtle yet rich sensory atmosphere. Propolis, a resin-like substance made by bees, has long been valued for its natural antimicrobial properties and distinctive earthy aroma.

To top things off, guests can take home locally made hive-based products like honey or candles as a souvenir from their visit.
