Join the MidCoast Watersheds Council and Coastal Community Clay for a guided walk in the intertidal zone and then turn nature into art by creating a hand-built seaweed-embossed clay dish or ornament.
The event will begin with a guided walk in the Seal Rock area where participants will explore our nearshore ecosystem to learn about tidepools, macroalgae, and the land to sea connection. After the exploratory walk, we will head to the nearby clay studio to create a hand-built seaweed-embossed trinket dish or ornament. This program invites participants to be inspired by the forms, textures, and patterns of the macroalgae and transform a natural experience into art. No prior clay experience is required. Your pieces will be fired and glazed for you. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to the MidCoast Watersheds Council to support their efforts to restore healthy watersheds.
