Calling all nature enthusiasts. Come enjoy an immersive one-hour, naturalist-guided tour of the lower Salmon River where you will hear about everything from native peoples, geology, the UNESCO Biosphere Region and the species that call it home. This extended tour aboard a 22-passenger US Coast Guard Certified pontoon boat ventures toward the mouth of the Salmon River and up into its winding, sinuous waterways—providing access to quiet corners of the estuary that few visitors ever experience. Watch for great blue herons, bald eagles, osprey, kingfishers, harbor seals, and a variety of migratory shorebirds during this intimate and engaging tour.
Once ashore, enjoy a light snack then create your own nature-inspired keepsake using the traditional Japanese art of Gyotaku. Make a special print of one of the fish species found in the estuary—a memorable way to connect art, science, and the natural world.
