Imagine yourself as a traveler along a section of the Applegate Trail in the late 1800’s. You have just arrived by stage coach at the Wolf Creek Inn. This is a long-sought-after refuge from a not-so-comfortable journey over mountains and across valleys. After paying 75 cents for a room, bath, and meals, you’re ready to relax. You sit down to a good meal and some easy conversation with the innkeepers or other guests. Afterwards, the men sidle off to the tap room for some quaffs of beer while the ladies adjourn to the parlor. The conversation drifts from tales of inspirational beauty to frightful experiences of the trail.

Finally! And worth it.
I've been wanting to stay here for years! When my husband and I started planning our road trip I decided the time was now. Booked it for one night and it was so worth it. First of all, the staff were lovely; very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the room by the side door on the first floor because I usually need a wheelchair. But we were able to park right there so... I also travel with an airbed because of my back. But the bed was so comfortable that I didn't need it! Dinner was very good and it was fun to dine with other guests. Outside, the lawn was nice to walk on and the surroundings are beautiful. We did hear about a ghost but didn't have any experiences in that arena, unfortunately. This is a wonderful gem of a hotel. It's priced right, has great rooms and was definitely worth the wait. We'll certainly stay here again!

A surprise delight on a road trip for the holidays
We checked this inn out last year and decided to stay here on our trip to California. We booked knowing that the restaurant would not be open on the night we stayed, so I can’t comment on that. But the inn was a delight! Someone has a huge love of Christmas and has decorated the inn in every nook and cranny. Even our bedspread Christmas themed! We also loved the small rooms (former bedrooms without baths) that were dedicated to the history of the inn and surrounding areas. The rooms were spotless and the towels folded with care and imagination. We will be back to this gem!

A beautiful historic inn
This was a delightful inn. The town of Wolf Creek itself doesn’t have much in it. The restaurant attached to the Inn is only open Thur-Sun, but there are places to eat in the neighboring town about 10 miles away. This historic Inn has been beautifully kept up. I met several people there staying the same night as me who have stayed there many many times on their travels up and down I-5. My room was quiet, with a small attached bath. Filled with natural light and a comfy bed, very clean. I slept peacefully although I was hoping for some ghost activity. I would definitely stay here again. I love old historic properties.
