Kind of a Letdown
After being assured there were abundant menus choices for a celiac customer, we were quite disappointed to find that was not true at all. The waitress knew little about celiac limitations and the clarifications she got from the kitchen were vague enough to make us extremely dubious about their ability to actually cook to gluten free standard. So, again, my wife had to settle for a salad "dinner" to be safe. My halibut was well prepared and tasty. If the cooks knew what they were doing, it could have been prepared GF. It's not that difficult.

Family Favorite got a refreshing facelift
Wayfarer is a family favorite when we are in Cannon Beach. The view is spectacular and it is next to the beach access so easy for a walk after dinner. The service is exceptional, they are top notch and you will want for nothing. The menu has a nice variety for everyone in the family including non seafood eaters and kids. I love their fish and chip or the crab cakes. Tonight I choose the clam chowder and crab cakes of course was not disappointed. You can tell they're freshly made on site. The Wayfarer just got a little facelift and I liked it. It lighten it up a bit inside but they keep the wood. It was a nice soft change, I feel was needed and well done. Refreshing but not in your face.

Had potential
Nice Menu and good local wine selection. Ordered the halibut. Very disappointed. Green beans were undercooked and the Halibut was super small with a red sauce on top to disguise the overcooked flavor.

Great food. Dirty floor. Slow Service.
I love the Wayfarer and have been many times, but this past Saturday when my husband and I who are locals went in for breakfast, we were sat by the manager and when I looked around, the carpeting was filthy — lettuce under the table next to me and crumbs all over the floor. Clearly the floors had not been vacuumed from the night before. Our sugar holder was completely empty. The food was good but we waited around and never got coffee refills and were just ignored as our waiter had disappeared. The busboy was nice but we finally had to flag another waiter down to ask for our check and he said our waiter had an emergency and had to leave and he pulled our check out of his apron and gave it to us. Thankfully the bathroom was clean (you could smell the cleaner), but there was just a lack of attention to detail that morning which was surprising considering the manager was on site — although I did see him grabbing his backpack and going in and out. Have to say dinner is the best meal here. Was here for lunch two weeks before and the menu is severely lacking. Breakfast food was good and so many choices but walking in at 8:45 am and seeing a filthy floor is just off putting. I know the hotel is having a renovation but the restaurant can use some updating too.
