Meh...kind of ho hum.
My husband and I went here last September for lunch. He ordered the Crab cocktail and the shrimp cocktail and I had the lunch special, which is a bowl of chowder, a side salad, and ciabatta bread. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures. The chowder was decent, but my husband was disappointed with his cocktails. They were kind of lacking in flavor and in the crab one, he found a couple of gills from the crab. Not good eats. Since it was lunchtime, it was busy and there was a bit of a wait. The service was alright, not over friendly but not rude either. This was the 2nd time we had eaten here in we thought we had liked it the first time around, but after this experience, not sure if we would go back.

Old Town Bandon visit with the family
We spent the day in Bandon and shopped. We had to eat at Tony’s. My daughter in law had a crab melt and it was piled with crab and she said it was the best she’s ever had. My wife, son and I had the Smoked salmon sandwich. My wife and I always order it. It’s amazing. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, fresh arugula lettuce and a fresh roll with cranberries on it. It is so good. And Bandon is pet friendly.

Not what it used to be
I last visited Bandon in 2009, so I might be being harsh. When we were here in that year, the crab sandwich was huge and really quite amazing. The price was very reasonable, but I don’t remember exactly what it was then - probably mid to upper teens. This visit proved to be disappointing with a thin sandwich for $24. Although the crab still tasted good, it was not chunky and stacked like before. I know prices have soared since then, but it was still a drag to see. I was also not impressed with the clam chowder. It was more like a cheap canned chowder. The staff were friendly enough. This place was on my list of “gotta get there as soon as we arrive in Bandon” and it didn’t work out for me.

Awesome Salmon sandwich
We went to Tony’s crab shack today. They had a smoked Salmon sandwich special. It was one of the best Salmon sandwiches I’ve had. It had cream cheese, fresh lettuce and wait for it cranberries. The salmon was delicious and often smoked salmon is really salty but not here. My wife and I both had the same thing and we both loved it. Sorry, my picture only shows half of my sandwich. I ate the other half. I couldn’t wait to snap a pic.

Tony needs to update about a dozen websites!
Tony’s website states that they are open until 7 but the will not seat past 6:30. I arrived at 6:05 to order crab cakes and a dozen oysters on the half shell and I was turned away. Not impressed with this tackle-shop turned restaurant.
