Good food, unusual atmosphere
My husband and I went to the Woodsman to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. We have family in Thailand, and have been unable to travel there because of the pandemic, so we wanted Thai food. This was our first time there. The Thai food we had was very good. The Woodsman name goes back to when it was a tavern. I guess they kept the name since it is known, and also they still have some of the decor from then - old saws, and pictures of old saw mills, for example. They do still serve American food. There were also pictures of Buddhas and Buddhist things. It does not have a Thai feeling at all. There were no Thai people there. Even the owner, we found out when she came out and visited, is from Laos, not Thailand! We were going to go to the Tarntip restaurant, which feels more Thai and has had Thai workers in the past, but they were not open for in house dining.

Very disappointed
We thought this was going to be great food because it was supposed to be authentic Thai. We ordered pad Thai with chicken and Thai garlic chicken. The pad Thai was bland and the chicken was so dry that it was not even worth continuing eating beyond a few bites. The Thai garlic chicken had and off putting flavor and the rice was extremely overcooked. Also the service was lacking. We left most of our food there, did not even want boxes to take it home with us.

Hok mok Salmon curry
I highly recommend this curry. My absolute favorite! Plenty to share, or bring home for another meal.😁

Group dinner on a Friday evening
5 of us enjoyed a variety of dishes on Friday evening. Everyone enjoyed their meal and many could not each all of the large portions so...we were able to take home leftovers. Two meals for the price of one... So much to eat that we could not have dessert.

Authentic Thai food
As others have mentioned, the decor is an interesting mix of logging memorabilia and Thai posters, some of which seem to feature the owner, Nang. Also as others mention, you get a lot of food - I recommend ordering dishes for the table and sharing - there will be plenty of food. I had the panang curry - one of my favorites - most of the heat comes from lots of fresh ginger root - a good reason to have the coconut ice cream for dessert! Servers are very friendly and service is good. It is 3 stars instead of 4 for me because I prefer the Thai food at a restaurant near my home in Beaverton. I will definitely revisit the Woodsman to try out the non-Thai food - that also looked very good and very fresh.
