I don't usually do reviews but felt compelled to reward Riverhouse Nestucca. Just finished up a 5 day trip to the Oregon coast and wine country and reflecting upon Riverhouse Nestucca as one of the top places that we dined. We selected based on the whim of 'let's eat where the locals eat' and upon arrival, it looked the part. Our conclusion was that the locals eat very well indeed. Both the halibut and salmon were expertly prepared and the risotto was excellent. Our night there was one of the highlights of our trip.

Incredible meals - we went back twice in one week!
We had two wonderful dinners here 3 nights apart during our stay in Pacific City. Everything was perfect - the welcoming staff, the ambiance and the incredible meals! Three of us had the salmon, the miso halibut, the poke bowl, the chowder, the scallops and the shrimp tacos over our two visits. They were all incredible. I'll be sure to return to Pacific City just to eat here again!!!

Excellent, be sure to make a reservation.
Small venue, and busy for good reason on a Sunday night. Excellent food. Scallops were cooked perfectly (although this is not a large plate, which is typical of scallop entres). Crab caesar salad and crab Mac and cheese were delicious and had generous portions of Dungeness crab. For dessert, the bread pudding was absolutely the best I’ve ever had.

We were very excited to do take-out as we heard positive feedback on the restaurant. I was disappointed in serving size ...a cup ordered... of oyster stew which turned out to be LESS than a half cup serving. The bowl of oyster stew was not much large. We looked forward to the fries appetizer with fresh rosemary, garlic and parm cheese... no rosemary, parsley instead. I tried to call several times during the business hours tonight to leave feedback, before 8PM. Unfortunately, no pickup. Disappointed have recommend this restaurant to guest from Chicago.

Let me just say, the food was excellent, when we got it. The problem was the service. It was clear they had overbooked and we’re not adequately staffed. We waited for 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Didn’t get water refilled, and we all needed water, for another 20 minutes. When we’re deciding if we should leave, appetizers and drinks arrived, and one drink short. No real apology was offered. Seating was very cramped too. There were just 5 of us. Food came out at different times. This was our splurge meal for the end of our vacation and we all left pretty upset by the experience overall. No offer to comp drinks or appetizers or apology either.
