Excellent breakfast
Have always liked the Wallowa Lake Lodge and the Camas dining room. The German pancake was excellent and well worth the 20 minutes extra time to prepare it. Unfortunately, we were unable to have dinner there as the diner chef has a death in the family the week we were in the area, and dinner service was cancelled,.

Nice old wooden hotel and beautiful fireplace.
Wanted to have dinner at the lodge, however was told dinners were on hold because of a family situation with the cook, so we decided to have breakfast there on Saturday morning. And it was a treat! Nice patio setting with view of the grounds and river. Biscuits and gravy were scrumptious! My brother had their German pancake. Light and also scrumptious. Should have taken a picture of it. It was beautifully presented on the plate. Excellent service.

A lovely dinner made with locally sourced foods
We had three great meals at this restaurant while staying at the lodge. For dinners, I had trout and bison meatloaf. Both were excellent and plentiful. The staff was friendly and we even got local history stories from our wine server.

So So Dinner
My family and I hadn't eaten at the lodge restaurant before so we decided to give it a try. The service was quite slow and it took almost an hour for our entrees to arrive. Both the salmon and chicken specials were over cooked and dry. We won't be coming back and suggest to potential dinners to drive to Enterprise to eat at Terminal Gravity instead!

Good food slow service
Make a reservation for dinner as it can get busy and check with their website to make sure they are serving dinner that night before you do. It is getting near the end of the season so that may play a part in our experience. Only two servers working; 8/17 tables occupied. French onion soup was very good, but arrived half hr after we ordered. The entrees (salmon, filet mignon, bison meatloaf) were all good, but the side dish of cabbage seemed odd. And there weren’t many desserts available. Dining room is decorated nicely, but there is no AC.
