The tastiest fish ’n chips is just the start! The Boat serves up classic chowder, scallops, oysters, prawns, fish sandwiches, and hand-cut cod. All the comfort food you love, too. Burgers, grilled cheese, corn dogs, melts. Plenty of beer and wine along with hot and cold beverages.

Great choice for a dinner stop
We stopped here late Sunday afternoon and we’re surprised to find so many people there a great little place to eat locals love it. The food was awesome. The atmosphere was great and the waitress is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately we will never go back. Be careful what you order.
Our second time here--and definitely our last. The fish and chips were extremely greasy and had to be sent back. They obviously just dumped them back in the same terrible cold oil and were still inedible. The fish slid away from the greasy coating and was placed on top of the fries, which made them super greasy as well. That night we both got sick and feel it was from the terrible oil they use. We called to let them know, and they could not have cared any less and were rude and curt. Obviously they think they can do no wrong and don't care about their customers as they pretend to. I don't enjoy giving bad reviews, but in this case I don't mind because it was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had!!

Great food and service and fantastic seafood menu!
Got to sit outside in covered area. It was a sunny day so it was thoroughly enjoyed-perhaps a little noisy from traffic going by, but nothing is perfect. The food was very good--they even grilled fish for you if you don't want fried. Also offer 3 different sauces it is cooked with. Comes with lots of yummy rice too. Had a salad that was nice and fresh. Our waitress, Molly, was THE best: very attentive, efficient, and fun. Will definitely go back when in the area.

Good, fresh food.
First time to eat at The Boat. The building was constructed as looking like a boat with the appropriate lighting, windows and some of the layout. There are two main eating areas, and indoor galley type with a few tables and an outdoor covered eating area also with a few tables. They just recently installed clear corrugated plastic panels to act as windows for the outdoor seating area. They do have ceiling heaters to try to warm the outdoor eating area, but the three that were on did not do a very good job at heating. We thought they needed longer heating lamps to warm the area. The weather was clear but 40°. The server Sara was awesome. Very informative and very attentive to our needs. The food arrived quickly. It was hot and fresh. Most of our party had the fish n chips. The fish was very fresh with a light, crispy breading. The fries were also very good. The menu has full size portions as well as light options that reflect the main menu. They serve Pepsi products along with a good selection of beer. Prices are decent for seafood plates and I would say what you would expect to pay. The location is close to downtown Coos Bay so it is easy walking distance. Overall a great dinner. We recommend a stop if you are in the area.

Always good fish, good service from good people!
Although I’m not a big fan of fish, I’ll continue coming to The Boat. Their fish is exceptional and doesn’t have that fishy flavor. I’ve been told the secret lies in the freshness of the fish they use; fresh fish simply doesn’t taste fishy. I’m convinced. Since it opened, I’ve been coming here and have always been satisfied. Fish on, ladies!
