The tastiest fish ’n chips is just the start! The Boat serves up classic chowder, scallops, oysters, prawns, fish sandwiches, and hand-cut cod. All the comfort food you love, too. Burgers, grilled cheese, corn dogs, melts. Plenty of beer and wine along with hot and cold beverages.

Good, fresh food.
First time to eat at The Boat. The building was constructed as looking like a boat with the appropriate lighting, windows and some of the layout. There are two main eating areas, and indoor galley type with a few tables and an outdoor covered eating area also with a few tables. They just recently installed clear corrugated plastic panels to act as windows for the outdoor seating area. They do have ceiling heaters to try to warm the outdoor eating area, but the three that were on did not do a very good job at heating. We thought they needed longer heating lamps to warm the area. The weather was clear but 40°. The server Sara was awesome. Very informative and very attentive to our needs. The food arrived quickly. It was hot and fresh. Most of our party had the fish n chips. The fish was very fresh with a light, crispy breading. The fries were also very good. The menu has full size portions as well as light options that reflect the main menu. They serve Pepsi products along with a good selection of beer. Prices are decent for seafood plates and I would say what you would expect to pay. The location is close to downtown Coos Bay so it is easy walking distance. Overall a great dinner. We recommend a stop if you are in the area.

Always good fish, good service from good people!
Although I’m not a big fan of fish, I’ll continue coming to The Boat. Their fish is exceptional and doesn’t have that fishy flavor. I’ve been told the secret lies in the freshness of the fish they use; fresh fish simply doesn’t taste fishy. I’m convinced. Since it opened, I’ve been coming here and have always been satisfied. Fish on, ladies!

Terrible
This was a joke!! The pieces of cod were so small it seemed like they used scapes of fish. The owner should be ashamed to serve this for We have eaten there before & it was not like that.

Good food and friendly service
We came here for fish & chips that my wife was hungry for. The portions were large and the servers were very friendly. They didn't have many vegetarian choices.

Does not meet SEASIDE EXPECTATIONS
Seemed to be generic seafood. I could have gotten better and less expensive at Dairy Delight in Paris Arkansas. Definitely will not return. The seating was nice, the waitress was energetic. The food did not meet our “Sea Side Expectation”
