We were staying at the hotel which is separate from the restaurant as we were rudely informed by the hostess who told us was a 30 minute wait. There were 2 tables seated that clearly had already eaten. We had booked our room with the date night package so we planned on eating there. We were never told at check in we needed reservations (it was a Tuesday and there were 2 tables seated) Continuing on hostess was terribly rude (as I said not because they were extremely busy) just an employee with a bad attitude. Service was terrible from long wait to order to not finishing appetizer and entree pushed on you that was already cold and server never checked in to see if we needed anything (maybe pepper that they do not have on table) Finally when he did come over I had to ask if ever had any training it was that bad. Nice hotel but skip the restaurant. Do not opt for the package with the restaurant included as it is NOT worth it My dinner bill was not close to the $100 restaurant credit I received with package of Date Night Stay. Again stay at hotel but skip the restaurant
Poor service, food disappointing
Had been here previously and enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately, very disappointed this past Sunday when we came for lunch. Apparently not enough staff to serve those that were there as we waited 20 minutes to get water and place our order. Drinks arrived 30 minutes later only after I went and found a server. Food finally arrived after an hour wait and my salmon was not cooked in the middle. Unlikely we will return.
Disappointing this time
Have been here twice before and it was enjoyable. Last night was disappointing. Service was excellent but I ordered the salad Nicoise which love. The description had greens, rare tuna, fingerling potatoes, hard boiled egg, green beans. I asked if they could add matamata olives and tomato since a Nicoise usually comes with those. No problem. What arrived was a huge bowl of greens which made it impossible to see what was in it. When i did get to the bottom there were no potatoes and no egg! Not happy
Delicious and beautiful
Delicious food, in a beautiful setting. Handmade tables, lots of fires and flames, indoor and outdoor seating right on the river. One of our favorites in Independence.
Beware. Made a reservation over a month ago. Talked to a young sounding girl. Reserved a table for my 60th for 12 with a river view. Called to confirm and was told there was no reservation listed. But they had a table with a view available. All good. Just got a call saying the entire atrium area has been reserved for a live play and I can still have dinner in the restaurant. No view. The whole point was to have an enjoyable 60th birthday for 12 guests, with a VIEW. This place messed up big time and I would not recommend it at all. Extremely disappointed.
