This review is most likely colored by my expectations. I'd heard several good things about it and although I knew it wasn't fine dining I didn't realize it was quite that casual. When I hear "steakhouse" I think beautiful juicy steaks. As soon as I spotted the prices I knew that wasn't what was happening at Szabo's. My 10 oz rib eye was $21 and included one side. It was the type of steak you'd expect for the price, meaning it wasn't bad but not what I wanted. My partner had chicken alfredo and said it was quite good. The wait staff was friendly, fast, and fun. Our anniversary dinner was over in 35 minutes. Again, not what I'd expected. I would eat there again but go somewhere else if you're wanting a dining experience.
Somehow this site created a new profile for me. I wanted it posted using this one. This restaurant was recommended to us by an acquaintance and we're s glad she did! From the moment we walked in the service was exemplary. Jay welcomed us with a friendly greeting and escorted us to our table. Caitlin, our server, greeted us with a smile and provided just the right amount of pleasant attention. If we'd known the portions were so large, we would have shared the fish and chips! We'll enjoy the rest tomorrow. And, we'll definitely be back and encourage others to come here. I definitely wouldn't call this a steakhouse more like a bar vibe. Food was decent and service was great. I ordered the seafood platter but it was lacking unfortunately. Halibut sandwich was ok but nothing special.
Tried the daily special, prime rib, was delicious! Had some clam chowder as my side, ordered extra to take home with me because it was yummy. And the homemade keylime pie... so good! Overall a pretty amazing meal for a really decent price and it all came with exceptional service.
