Stopped in this morning after fasting for 24 hours (hospital visit). I was so hungry... everytime I drive by the Smokehouse the parking lot is full so we assumed it would be good food. We'll, we were completely wrong. I ordered the country fried steak and the wife ordered the hash. This was dive truck stop food at it's best. There was nothing homemade as every item was a food delivery truck cheapo special. Canned gravy, canned hash, frozen country steak, biscuits come frozen in a box. The worst part is that it cost $40.00 for two meals before the tip. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us often. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

The Smokehouse Restaurant is our place of choice for breakfast when we stay over in La Grande. We normally stay in the Travelodge across the road and so the location is perfect. The staff are friendly and the coffee keeps flowing. My wife always has their Eggs Benedict and I love their Meat Lovers Omelet, both of us have the Hashbrowns. Based on the flow of local customers and the friendly staff, you should not be disappointed whatever you choose.

This is totally a local restaurant for breakfast/lunch. Great service and very good food. We were traveling on I-84 and took a slight detour to get here. Very happy with the meal and service. Fast, but local. Would definitely eat here again.

The place for sit down breakfast
The staff are welcoming, the coffee is good and the servings are large. I had the eggs scrambled with green peppers and sausage, with a gravy biscuit on the side. More than I could eat. The waitress kept my coffee cup full. I plan on going back for breakfast tomorrow!
