5 star for sure!
We stopped for lunch and the food, staff and ambiance was wonderful! We had their clam chowder and it was delicious! We also ordered the crab cakes, which were perfectly done and the cheese bread which was rich and yummy. Then- we heard they had a great dessert menu…. They do! It was hard to choose but the delicious, decadent carrot cake won out. We would highly recommend!!

Excellent Dinner Venue / Dessert is a Must!
Before you order dinner, check out the desserts...a must in this restaurant. We ordered the Brownie Cheese Cake - Outstanding. AND we ordered the Carrot Cake - Outstanding x2!. The Salmon Your Way was delicious accompanied with a potato and vegetables. The clam chowder was excellent - another must. We brought a bottle of wine, and the corkage fee was $15. A must do when in Astoria.

Excellent meals and service.
Wow!!! What a great meal! There were four of us and each one got a different dish. Every one had a really great meal. Two of us got pasta dishes, both were very satisfying. One got the jerk seasoning on salmon with polenta and romesco sauce. Really good combination. Last person got blackened salmon, which was excellent. Also had clam chowder as a starter, very good. Service was very friendly and attentive. They checked on us and our tea/water glasses were always full. Would definitely come back again.

Gluten at the Silver Salmon Grille
So disappointing. I'm sensitive to gluten and asked our server if the salmon special was gluten free. A very casual "Yes," from him so I asked him to check with the kitchen and his answer was, "There's no gluten." Folks. Gluten can hide in sauces and even rice. It's not just the obvious bread/wheat. I had the salmon and was definitely exposed to gluten which turned a fun trip to Astoria to not fun. My dish had a sauce and pilaf rice. I'm guessing it was the sauce or rice or both. When I reached out to the restaurant, I got no response which tells me they don't care. So I'm sharing here. Never going back.
