Recommended and well worth the stop!
Spending a night in Burns, RJ's Restaurant was recommended for a good sit down breakfast. (They only serve breakfast and lunch.) Apparently, It has been the same owner for many years and was described as usually "busy." On a Friday at 8:00 a.m., most of the tables were occupied - some by locals obviously having morning coffee and others having breakfast like we were. It is a pretty small seating area. A huge wall menu greets you at the counter where you order and pay. I have read reviews about slow service and a sign there warns that if the service is slow it's because each meal is individually prepared. It wasn't slow service for us. We each had a #4, one with a waffle and one with pancakes. Both with eggs over medium and bacon. If I have a complaint, It's that the pancakes were cooked a little too well. The waffle was perfect as were the eggs. There were four large pieces of bacon (excellent quality) on each plate. The overall quantity of food was huge for each as was the breakfast served to other patrons. Except for a difference in taste as to how pancakes are cooked, the quality was excellent as well. There was no way either of us could eat all that was served in one sitting. Pricing was not cheap but certainly reasonable for the quantity and quality. Table service after ordering was efficient and friendly with several offers of coffee refills. I would have liked the opportunity to try other breakfast menu items, like an omelet, or a lunch, but it was just a quick stop over. However, the next time we are in Burns we will make time to stop for what I expect will be another great dining experience.

Good food and good prices.
This is definitely the local gathering place. Very down home. Good cooking and tons of choices the prices cannot be beat for the amount of food presented. I had a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. TWO eggs, TWO slices of cheese AND TWO sausage patties. Husband had a fully loaded ham omelet with a half plate slab of hash browns. The owner is nice and accommodating.

Great food, friendly service, good value
This is a great, casual local spot for a hearty breakfast at a good value. We shared the chicken-fried steak and hashbrowns and it was delicious and more than enough. Folks were friendly and it was obvious that most of the other guests were regulars. Well worth a visit.

Yummy mid way point
This was great stop. Loved the rustic color purple decor. Bathrooms clean You order at front and they serve you. Parking lot was full so we knew we picked a good spot! French toast was great. Philly cheesesteak could use au jus as didn’t have. They didn’t skimp on mushrooms. Hubby had #3 and loved it. Friendly and while not fast food place we got food in decent time. Ice maker wasn’t in operation when we stopped

Great diner
Simple, great, family-run diner. Everything is made to order, so it’s not “fast food.” Clean restaurant, very clean bathrooms, excellent food. Friendly and efficient service. Got the cheese steak, excellent. Fresh onions and mushrooms, served hot. It was 90 degrees outside, and it was nice and cool inside. Great stop for lunch, lots of locals.
