Chocolate Pot de Crème
I hadn't planned on having lunch at Redfish because the listing here on TripAdvisor showed that they were closed on Mondays. We stopped at Battle Rock (right next to the restaurant) and luckily noticed that the restaurant was indeed open. Beautiful building with glass windows that overlook the ocean and Battle Rock. There is outdoor seating, but we opted for a table right by the window. I ordered the Croquettes (Fried Potato, Goat Cheese, Pine Nuts, Spinach, Red Pepper with Mustard Aioli). Small portion, but each bite was so delicious. My husband enjoyed his Fish Tacos. The best was saved for last - a Chocolate Pot de Crème, served with thick whipped cream and raspberry sauce. One of the best desserts I've ever eaten!

Don't bother--they think they are tops, but more like almost bottom.
Was planning a birthday dinner for spouse, but we were treated shabbily from the time we arrived. One look at the menu and we decided there was not much on it that was appealing, so we decided to leave. The waitress argued with us that we took a table that someone else could have sat at. Geesh, we were only there for a few minutes, and there were plenty of other tables available! Anyway, bad waitress, bad menu, bad vibes overall.

When a couple things are wrong—everything was wrong!
Was not impressed with this place. Stopped in for lunch and decided on the fish sandwich. The menu read that it came with slaw and fries. When the order came I asked about the slaw. He told me it comes on the sandwich. It appeared to be about 2 teaspoons of slaw on the fish. So I asked for some slaw because I wanted to taste their slaw and the way it was listed on the menu. ( slaw freak here ) and he brings out a 1 oz sushi dipping bowl with slaw on it. It looked like a heaping teaspoon of slaw for God’s sake…. I almost thought he was just humoring me. Cole slaw is not that high on the kitchen’s food chain when it comes to expense…… The sandwich fell apart due too much remoulade sauce on the bun so I set it down picked it over with my fork. The Fries were too few and could have been fried longer. When the bill comes I see he charged me $4 for the slaw. What a joke….😡 He still got his 20% tip thanks to my wife paying…… BTW: the slaw left a lot to be desired.

One Fish, Two Fish, REDFISH, Blue Fish - Small but mighty in flavor!
For our daughter’s birthday dinner, she chose a family favorite, Redfish in Pt. Orford, OR. The four of us went on a Saturday evening, early at 5:30 pm. For Starters, the Oyster Shooters won the top choice. Served in a shot glass with the oyster floating in a pool of pickled brine, shredded carrots, chives. Very tasty! The Sable Fish, also Black Cod or Butterfish, won the top choice for Entrees, with one choosing the clam special on a bed of linguine. The Sablefish had that buttery flavor on a bed of homemade Udon noodles, miso broth, surrounded by el dente broccoli and small spears of zucchini squash plus tiny cubes of tofu. Mouth watering? If you’re traveling Highway 101 through southern Oregon, stop at this small town restaurant. Watch for the days they’re open, Dessert: another delectable treat! They feature different desserts on different days. We shared two, the raspberry cheesecake and a raspberry cobbler.

Worst fine dining experience ever
This place had the potential to be so great. I ordered a Paloma that was really bad. How do you ruin a Paloma? The group of us ordered salads and appetizers for starters, and entrees. We asked the waitress questions about the menu and she didn't know any of the answers. She seemed a bit out of it. We waited quit a while for the food, and then she brought out our entrees. I was wondering what happened to the starters. I said that we may as well cancel the salads and appetizers, and she said we couldn't as it "was all up at once". We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner, and our small table was crammed with the food, appetizers, salads, and drinks. The salmon I ordered was not bad, but it was farmed Atlantic salmon, and there's a place that sells fresh wild caught salmon just a short walk from Redfish. Needless to say, none of us will be going back again.
