Our first time here for breakfast, we enjoyed the old school experience. The menu is quite extensive and I got the Swedish pancakes which is not on offer where we live. Yummy! The coffee was good and they offered a variety of syrups to accompany the pancakes. The staff seemed a little under supervised but they tried hard to accommodate the needs of the clients around us. Tables are close together—a combination of booths and tables. Not a cookie cutter experience.

I am a 63 year long local resident. Pancake Mill use to be my favorite restaurant. I use to look forward to going there but the last few times that we have went there we have been so disappointed. I know that food has been getting very expensive but they have cut the quality so much that it affecting the taste. Yesterday I ordered my favorite the Chicken Swiss Omelet. It use to be filled with chicken almonds celery and Swiss cheese. The last several Omelets that I have had are so bland, a couple chunks of celery some almost invisible almond shreds and just a couple tiny bits of chicken with barely any cheese. The hashbrowns have no flavor, they taste fake. So so disappointing. If you need to charge more to add back in the filling, please do. Im not the only one disappointed in the cut backs and quality. Almost everyone I talk to feels the same way. It's just so 😔 sad. Some of the desserts are not as good as they use to be either. I understand that they have to make money but they are sacrificing the taste. Maybe someone else might think that they are still good but as someone that has lived here their whole life, I know that they use to be better.

They are very friendly here, great service and have a large selection but $14.50 for a cheeseburger that was only 1/4 of an inch thick is crazy. If I had known I would not have gone.

A Better-than-Expected Breakfast Option! On our road trip throughout CA, OR, and WA to tour several national parks, we spent the night in Coos Bay en route to Redwood National Park. We asked around about breakfast options and were told they were pretty limited. So, we lowered our expectations. Happily, the Pancake Mill was open, parking spaces were available, and we walked right in. This is a folksy, cute diner that we could have stepped into a generation ago. Or two generations ago. They had a big pastry case up front with all manner of fluffy carbohydrates - pies, muffins... And the women who served and seated us were terrific. The menu offered a wide variety of eggs, hash browns, meats, and the aforementioned bakery treats. I enjoyed my enormous omelet loaded with veggies and a better-than-expected fruit salad on the side with a variety of fresh berries and melon. Prices were very reasonable - - low, in fact. I am very glad we went here.

Great place for breakfast.
O.M.G.! We got there early on a Sunday morning, before the rush and were seated in about five minutes. Beverages were quickly provided and our orders were served in a short time. Food was delicious and portions generous. Price was within normal for what we’ve experienced. Pastries are to die for. Along with being full, then we tried to add the delicious pastry besides. The pastry can be added as one of your choices for a side. Omelettes were large and you could choose two sides, one of which could be a pastry. Great service, friendly staff and an overall wonderful experience.
