Disappointed
Our friends had recommended Oxenfre Public House because he's had their steak before and said it was fantastic. They no longer serve steak and have a VERY limited bar menu; maybe 5 or 6 items. Needless to say, we had one drink and left.

Not a restaurant
Maybe this was a restaurant at one time, but I believe that it is now a bar. My family was "kicked out" because we had a child with us. Not sure, but it would seem no food is offered at all.

Awesome food
This is our new favorite restaurant. Definitely the best on the central or southern Oregon Coast. During the last two visits we had the short ribs, burger, Reuben, and fried eggs. Everything was excellent. The service was fast and friendly. The presentation was spot on and I don't know how the food could have tasted any better. As far as the price, I don't think this was out of line with other restaurants. Prices seem to be going up everywhere. If you find a restaurant with better food and lower prices, please let me know.

Worth it!
Try their Fish Market offering if you like an Asian inpired preparation. The ling cod they were featuring was delicious. Also enjoyed the Janes Addiction vodka cocktail. Service was friendly and competent. I don't expect swift service during a pandemic. It appeared they only had two servers who were kept very busy, even mid week. Very enjoyable meal.

Why does it take so long to get a meal in Brookings? And No Salt Balls!!
Not sure if all the restaurants in Brookings got together and decided to make customers wait a minimum of 90 minutes to get food but that seems to be the norm. Restaurant wasn’t too busy but the food took a really long time to come out. They forgot part of my daughters order and charged us for two cherry cokes when they only had one of the specialty sodas that both of my children ordered. Food was pretty good. Nicely cooked steak but for waiting 90 minutes I’m not sure why they didn’t actually cook the carrots and broccoli that accompanied it. Way too al dente! I was really looking forward to trying the salty balls dessert- come on that’s funny! But alas they were all sold out. I made do with chocolate mousse which looks like a scoop of pudding for $10. Got it to go and they didn’t give me a spoon. I guess I’m licking it out of the box! Ps. Just fashioned a spoon from a plastic cup. Mousse is mediocre at best. Skip it.
