We had dinner here on a Thursday night. The place was quiet, but we were dining at approximately 6 PM. All of the staff were very pleasant and courteous. We shared a fish chimichanga. There was a huge serving and was more than filling for two persons. It was also delicious. The children had cheese nachos and they enjoyed those. That was also very generous serving. More than enough for two or three kids. Plenty of free parking outside. This is a little bit off the beaten track and a few miles outside of town. But it was well worth it.
My husband & I stopped into La Herradura today for lunch. We had not been here for about two years. We both noticed that the quality of the food was not quite as good as it was two years ago. We always liked their food it was the best in the area. I don't know if it was just an off day but it seems more like the food that is prepared somewhere else frozen & trucked into the restaurants they reheat & serve it. My husband had fajitas & they came out like stir fried veggies not on a cast iron plate steaming. I hope that is not the case as their food has always been so good, but not so good today. Prices are still very reasonable & service is very good.
I have family that lives in North Bend and every time we come to visit we make sure to come here and eat. The service is excellent and the food is hot and delicious! And the portions??? You won't need to eat for the rest of the day!
Their food is very good. They give you a very large portion and there is enough to take home for lunch the next day.
Service excellent as well. I ordered chili verde with rice and beans. The pork was perfectly lean and tender, the verde sauce delicious. My daughter ordered chicken and beef fajitas which were also very good. Portions on both meals were large so we ended up asking for a box for half of her meal, as well as half of the corn tortillas. I’ve eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and to me the rating on this restaurant is either unfairly low or the Coos Bay/North Bend atea has some outstanding Mexican restaurants! Whatever, our experience at La Herradura was terrific. Nice people too.
