La Flor De Mexico is Brooking’s finest Mexican restaurant offering an extensive menu of Mexican food favorites including enchiladas, fajitas, and burritos.
I don’t no how many times we have eaten here but never disappoints. We had crispy pork carnitas, arroz con pollo, fried ice cream, all was great except pork wasn’t crispy.
Won't be going back ever again!
I received bill and there was a charge for to go boxes and refills on sodas are full price 2.75 soda! No sign posted anywhere, and I ordered without looking at the menu. When I referenced that the charges were wrong the owner was rude and said yeah, it's in the menu. They have it apparently in tiny print somewhere I'm sure in the menu. She was absolutely rude, and I'm a large tipper normally, so I took it out of the tip for her being unprofessional, and trying to scam for more money. Deceitful to be honest, and it was in her voice too. They need to have that stuff posted on a sign! We won't go back because of it, and we're locals born and raised in brookings! Bye! Lost our giant family for being Deceitful!
Maybe they have improved.
It's been several months since our one and only visit, so perhaps things have improved. The service was marginal and the food some of the most mediocre I've had in a restaurant. The restaurant itself is beautifully done, so the ambiance is good but not good enough to make up for the rest of a poor experience. There are two other Mexican restaurants in Brookings that are much better.
Best Tacos I have ever had
My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant since 2005, whenever we visit Brookings OR from our home in San Diego County CA. There are LOTS of excellent Mexican food restaurants close to where we live, but out of all those places nearby, and lots of other places I have tried in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and even Mexico itself, during my seven decades of eating Mexican food, I can say confidently that the BEST Tacos I have ever had are to be found at La Flor De Mexico in Brookings OR. The exceptional flavor of the beef and the consistency of the shell - almost like a fine pastry - set them apart and above all of the rest. On this National Taco Day 2022 I say: thank you La Flor De Mexico for the best tacos I have ever had, and I look forward to the next time I get to visit Brookings and enjoy your food again!
First time here
There was nobody to greet you when you first arrive at the restaurant but they're short-staffed like most restaurants are these days. My husband had a ground beef tostada and even though he said it was good, the fried tortilla got way too soggy for him to eat a lot of it. I had a shredded beef taco and it was good but I ordered it without lettuce and it was loaded with lettuce and not much cheese. Their margaritas were good but I don't know if we'll go back.
