La Baia Restaurant brings a laid-back Italian coastal kitchen right to the Alsea Bay. You do not have to go far for a great meal! The menu leans into fresh seafood, house-made pasta, and simple dishes done well, with flavors that feel honest but elevated. It’s the place where you can sit down, order a glass of wine, and take your time, with exceptional views of the Alsea Bay and Bridge.

A real disappointment
I was hoping for much more-sigh. What a disappointment. Pros-great location on the bay Great bartender Nice bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio Cons Mediocre food at best Seafood Tagliatelle was tasteless Ravioli was sub-par Staff had no idea what a reservation was-we had to wait nearly an hour for our “reserved “ table We had really high hopes for this restaurant given that there aren’t that many choices here. Too bad it was not worth coming back to.

Great Italian food with a view of the Waldport Bridge
We had a delicious meal at Baia. I had an Aperol Spritz, my husband the marionberry margarita. A large portion of Steamed clams tasted fresh, served with garlic toast and blistered tomatoes. We shared the Baia pasta special. Al dente pasta, shrimp, clams, and so much more, including a garnish of crispy sage. We finished with a very authentic tiramisu. It’s great to have first class Italian food available on the coast.

Wonderful surprise!
This was the only excellent meal we had on our Oregon Coast/ Redwoods trip. Chef Scott has apparently revolutionized the place. Give it a try.
