Fabulous! Old fashioned great Chinese food!! Friendly service and amazing food!’ Would recommend to anyone! Even great Chow Mein!!
Unpleasant hostess lady that unfortunately happened to be the waitress as well. Took wayyy too long to even get order placed. Our food quality was crap. Salad was drowned in dressing that wasn't that good. Chow mein was luke-cold, and wife got a sour bite from an oddity in the vegetables, the rice was old and had hard bites to it. The portions for our dish was skimpy, and their prices went up. The topper was than neither of us felt well within 10mins after eating there. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!
Place a large order for a birthday party as we had eaten here years prior and the food was very good. Must have entirely changed out the kitchen staff as the sweet and sour pork meat was very dry and the sauce solidified rapidly, the chow mein had no flavor whatsoever, and the barbecue pork rice had three small strips of meat on top of the rice which doesn't qualify a box of fried rice as BBQ pork fried rice. Saddest of all, the birthday lady ordered two shrimp chow yuk and it was barely touched. Very disappointing that nobody was interested in the leftover food and it was discarded. For the amount of money spent, we are not willing to risk going there again.
This is the locals favorite for Chinese food in G.P. Service is tenuous at times but the food is served hot and the quality is consistent and you get ice cream for dessert. It's kinda funky old but when you see the line of folks eating there you'll know why. Give it a try just don't tell anyone else. We locals like to walk in and be seated.
Last friday our group of 13 wanted to have an early dinner with our brother who was flying back to Flordia. We called Hong Kong Restaurant thursday to see if they could accommodate us at 4:30 on friday. Person said no problem we don't take reservations but would put us in the banquet room. We all drove the approx 45 minutes to get there from Eagle Point and Central Point and were told that a couple of employees called in sick so they could not seat us. Told counter person of our conversation Thursday and her answer was sorry. As we stood outside deciding what to do, I counted 11 people in groups of 2, 3 and 6 walk in and must of been seated as they did not come back out while we were there. We had been told the food was great there which is why we chose that place. Well we didnt try the food but due to terible customer service there is a minimum 13 people that will never give it a try. Was so disappointed. Funny thing is we went down the street about a mile and found a great Japanese restaurant called Matsukaze, food and service was great and didnt have to wait.,
